Small city, hotel location excellent

Posted Jul 24, 2017
Pros: Great staff. More than sufficient breakfast. Vicinity to shops, and Water Village transport.
Cons: In such a small city --- nothing!
Location: Floodlit Sultan's mosque. Revisit the brilliant Regalia Museum. Watch or use the speedboats crossing to the Water Village.
Bandar Seri Begawan is a small time capital in a quiet peace-loving country, therefor visitors should not expect resort-style vibrancy. What it has is the perfect ambience for total peaceful relaxation. You will love the happy response you'll receive from all the local people. Take a guided tour of the area, then sit back and relax, for all the interesting places to revisit are within easy walking from the hotel. Brunei hotel also provides a free shuttle service to the Gadong Mall area.

A hotel near to so much

A pleasant, clean and very central hotel. However I was disappointed that there was no free breakfast or airport shuttle. Though there was one to the malls!!

Staying at the Brunei Hotel

Posted Jun 10, 2017 on Hotels
The Brunei Hotel This hotel could not be more central to the city area. The taxi boats are outside the hotel door. Places to eat are mostly a walk away and many major attractions are also within easy walking distance. The hotel cafe was closed while we were there because of Ramadan; the inclusive breakfast provided for a wide range of tastes and cultural preferences. The hotel clearly explained the impact of Ramadhan on hotel guests. The rooms were clean and comfortable and well serviced. The desk staff were very helpful and willing to arrange ad hoc trips e.g they arranged for a reasonably priced taxi boat to see the proboscis monkeys. The hotel works with Freme Travel for half and day trips.

Great location in the city, very close to bus station, Royal Regalia museum and mosque. Air conditioning was good, as were toiletries, bed comfort and breakfast

I booked months in advance, asking for a high floor and market view. I got the 1st floor looking at another street. Bath mat had a hole in it. Doona cover had a hole in it. Laminate flooring was ripped. Hotel was at 25% capacity. So why?? Limited breakfast for Europeans.
