Fine but pricey

Posted Feb 24, 2017
Booked a hotel room the night before that was at a discounted rate. The room was fine. Bed was firm. Mostly clean. Overpriced though even at the discount. The amenities were somewhat lacking. No restaurant on site. The pool area, while nice to have doesn't really allow for a great view of the mountains with where it's situated. The workout room was small and there was no info about the apparent spa services. I noted massage rooms but no actual spa. For a place to rest your head and shower it's fine. I could have booked at a Holiday inn and at least had breakfast though.

Thank you for your review and am sorry that you feel our pricing was high for your night before booking. Our Massage rooms have single and couples services, and are a great way to relax while in the mountains, as well as the Outdoor Pool area and Hot Tubs. Safe travels and Thank you.

Thank you for your review and I do apologise that our outdoor BBQ were not satisfactory during your stay. We have had them all serviced and can report that they are waiting for the next steak dinner to be prepared on them. Thank you.

beautiful area!

Posted Feb 23, 2017
Second time here.. this time we were in a 2 bedroom suite. Beautiful and big.. if you are a sensitive sleeper..ask for a room opposite the highway. Close to everything in Canmore and 25 mins to Banff.. which is a must see:) Love it and will be back again!❤️

Very quiet setting in Canmore. Convenient location

Posted Feb 18, 2017
Pros: Roomy, great view, VERY QUIET!!
Cons: A little more TLC when vacuuming - where carpets meet baseboards.
Location: We love Canmore. Lots of variety in the local cuisine. Great shops. Close to winter sports and summer hiking/biking trails. Stunning view.
This is a very nice resort. I was surprised and pleased that the heated outdoor pool is open year round. We stayed here in February, were blessed with mild weather and loved how quiet the area is. We were upgraded to a 2-bedroom suite and the ONLY 2 even remotely negative things I can say were that the furniture isn't super comfy for lounging around. We spent a fair bit of time in our room (we aren't skiers & it's $$$$ etc...) so most people wouldn't care about this trivial thing. Place was clean, but could use a little extra TLC where carpet meets baseboards. But again, that's being pretty picky (can you tell I'm reaching for reasons not to give this place a solid 5?) Only thing that could have made this stay better would be if there was a restaurant on the premises. Would definitely stay here again! Thank you staff for a lovely birthday weekend!!

great little hotel get away

Posted Feb 16, 2017
Pros: the kitchenette was the selling feature for us
Cons: mid week discounts
Location: tons of ski hills and little shops right close, not to far from calgary or banff
we just needed a night to get away and this hotel was perfect for it

Great stay in Canmore

Posted Feb 16, 2017
Great room. Well decorated and set up. Nice to have a "home" instead of just a room or dated condo. The bed is super comfy. Love the full sized kitchen

Went for the Skiing and found SO MUCH MORE

Posted Feb 14, 2017
Pros: Hotel staff very accommodating...friendly and offered great suggestions for activities and sights-not found in brochures...HEATED garage with wash bay
Cons: Pressure cooker option to be signed out at front desk-
Location: Gondola ride to summit for evening supper at the High Spring in Banff- make reservations for a window table
The Hotel is located up and out of the way of the hustle of Canmore town area...easy access- After a long travel day- we called front desk for quick directions and they kept us on the phone with turn by turn directions until we were directly on the street. Awesome to have a Heated Garage with a wash bay in the winter- no need to warm up the car before you daytrip to local sights. Hotel staff was incredible...hair dryer would not function and front desk had one delivered to room in less than 5 min. Plenty of kitchen space and a Crock Pot in the pantry! Fire place is easy to operate. We stayed there 4 days and enjoyed the heated pool and work out area each day...extremely clean work out area-and bath robes to pool area made this winter getaway cozy. Absolutely would go back to Blackstone

Badic hotel on main road

Posted Feb 13, 2017
We had booked this hotel for our 13th anniversary. It's a 4 hour drive for us. Thinking it was an upscale accomodation where we would be well taken care of as it's described a a "resort". The heated pool was out of order the first night which was disappointing seeing as they charge a resort fee partially based on this feature. The second day we went for brunch and returned at 12:30pm and room service had left s card in the door explaining we had missed our chance for cleaning. The binder which explains amenities in the room states these services are available until 4pm. I had to ask the girls in the hallway who were still cleaning other rooms to make up our room. She only offered towels so I had to ask her to make up the bed and clean the foyer as there is no doormat and the floor easily gets dirty from shoes. I later took a bath and tried to make the most of my stay since I was there and used a fancy barh bomb I had purchased in town. As I looked over at the toilet I noticed fecal matter all under the brim of the toilet which completely ruined my nice soak. I decided to call and see if frint desk would be able to do anything about the service we had been receiving. I was told I would be contacted by the front desk manager as soon as they were out of a meeting. I was never contacted. They next day after our room was made up they had left a pre-printed card explaining they were sorry for inconvenience and a $5 bottle of wine. My fiance and I don't drink...

Clean and well maintained.

Posted Feb 13, 2017
Stayed at Blackstone for 2 nights on a short ski trip. Room was clean and well maintained. Hotel should consider providing each room with a luggage rack or a bigger/second table. Underground parking was nice for cold winter days, but parking spots are narrow (bigger cars end up with 2 sharing 3 spots).
