OK but not as good as used to be

Posted Oct 13, 2016
Location: Skiing, hiking, biking
Since being bought out by Marriott the Delta has not been quite as well run as before. The front desk staff were very pleasant, we needed a pet free room for allergies and they accommodated us nicely. The hotel was under some renovations while we were there but that did not affect our stay at all. Room was clean-ish maybe I am picky but I prefer my showers not to come with other people's hair in it. Hot tub was more luke warm but stream room was good all of it was super clean which is great. We had an issue at the Thanksgiving buffet; service was terrible, ran out of plates, dirty (food everywhere), ran out of food constantly, when it came often was cold. We pointed out our disappointment ($100 meal!) and was met with blank stares...decided to mention to concierge staff as was feeling very unhappy and was brushed off there as well. This didn't ruin our weekend but it sure put a damper on it, unsure if we will choose to stay here for ski season, may just stay in Canmore instead. The only places to eat are in the hotel and if the food/service is bad it makes you not want to commit to staying there.

Above average but generally quite ordinary.

Posted Oct 10, 2016
Pros: Smooth check in and check out. Very nice room that was easily accessible. Dog friendly.
Cons: Even though I was assigned underground parking the lot was full. So had to seek other parking. Check in staff should be more aware of such things.
Location: Great location. Lots of outdoor activities nearby both organized and solo.
Nice room. Spacious. Expensive. Great location.

Very noisy oven cooker

Posted Oct 7, 2016
Location: Hiking in the area was excellent - it was the reason we went there. The hotel was lousy and we won't go back.
The room was on the first floor in the Mount Kidd Manor. We had to have the window open at all times because you could not turn down the heat. We could hear all of the noise from people gathering around the meeting rooms as well as feel / hear the vibrations from all of the service trolleys for the meeting rooms through the day and night! Worst hotel room ever.

Dear Al, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. I'm very sorry outside noise disturbances impacted your stay and rest assured, we're in the process of correcting that as we undergo a phased, multi-million dollar renovation. Although we failed to exceed your expectations, we hope to have the opportunity to better serve you and welcome you back to Kananaskis in the near future!

Great vacation

I'm glad I splurged and came to this hotel. The room was very comfortable and the view was great. I got food from the cafe on site and was pleased with the offering.

Wonderful experience.

Posted Sep 26, 2016
Pros: The atmosphere, The staff, The location.
Cons: the room could have been a little more updated.
Location: The location was the greatest. It was away from the big crowds. But close enough to Banff and Lake Louise. The views are spectacular.
This hotel was the best. it was older and a little run down but the staff makes up for everything. The front desk worker was the greatest. I would go back for sure.

One night at Kananaskis Lodge

Posted Sep 16, 2016
Pros: I like where the hotel is situated. I like all of the lovely shops that are a part of the centre. The outlook is beautiful.
Cons: I would like to have opened the window and get fresh air. Especially that we are in the Wilderness.
Location: There is so much to do nearby...usually we camp in the area but a visitor from Australia staying with us, wanted to shout us to a nice hotel.
We had a lovely over-night stay at Kananaskis. At night time we used the Spa facilities which are excellent. We also dined in one of the restaurants which was delicious. The next morning we had a leisurely morning going for a run and walking outside for other members of the family. The view and environment are spectacular. We then took a walk to the river below after we checked out.
