Cabins - rustic, economical, cozy, convenient,Posted Feb 2, 2016
Pros: Price, location
Cons: Staff ambivalence.
Just like anywhere else some staff are great others are not. For $55/night the cabins are a great deal. They are small and rustic, but great for a base to visit the surrounding sights.

Convenience is always a plusPosted Jan 29, 2016
Pros: Easy to find, good access, quick check-in and check-out.
Cons: Maybe an added electrical outlet.
Location: We were able to experience Banff, and the restaurants on Canmore quickly and easily. Since entertainment is our focus it suited us perfectly.
We have stayed in a variety of accommodations over the last couple of years. I loved the location, view, convenience and price for this hotel. I'd definitely stay again.

Simple but comfortable.Posted Jan 25, 2016
Pros: Quiet, comfortable, pleasant environment.
Location: Close to both downhill skiing (Sunshine, Mount Norquay) and cross-country (Mount Shark). Close to ice-climbing routes (Junkyard in Canmore and severa
I used Rundle Mountain Lodge as the base for skiing in the area. The hotel is simple but comfortable and quiet. All amenities (swimming pool, WiFi) are inclusive. The rooms have microwave, fridge, table for dining. The rooms are made up as needed.

Pet friendly and low rate, not worth it though!Posted Jan 25, 2016
Pros: Friendly front desk staff
Cons: Update the rooms
Location: Canmore is so beautiful. Lots of things to do and see, every winter sport imaginable, unique shopping, and short drive to Banff! Yummy restaurants!!
The staff at the front desk were fantastic super friendly and accommodating. The rate was also very reasonable, and it was great that they accepted dogs, no matter the size (we have a huge dog!). It was also nice that it had a mini kitchen (albeit outdated), which we didn't use as we were only there to sleep. However, that's about all that was positive. The room was old and outdated. Beds were like cardboard, the sheets were stained. Carpet was very stained and looked like burn holes in areas. The paint was chipping and peeling on the walls. The linoleum was stained and peeling. There were holes in walls were fixtures or pictures were once hung. The bath tub was old, and looked like facets had been moved and holes left in it's place. The shower head sprayed water out the side and the tempature was difficult to control. Worst of all, there was black mound on the ceiling in the bathroom and floor around the tub. I didn't both complaining as it wasn't worth the effort as we just slept there for one night and didn't spend much time in the room. However, I would never stay here again. I realize it was only a 2.5 star hotel, but I didn't think it would be that bad. I guess I learnt my lesson. I'm sure there are nicer places to stay in Canmore that are pet friendly.

Staff did not follow through on my discount, for having a door that would not open with my motel key. Also, did not call me back about the cell charger that I left on the side table. I had a friend in town able to pick it up. Poor management, poor customer service skills, poor English speaking skills.

It is an older hotel with basic comforts but cleanPosted Jan 25, 2016
Pros: Price was the main attraction
Cons: Missing a plug for the bathroom sink but there was one for the bathtub that could be used
Location: Lots to do in Canmore but you need to drive a bit to get to downtown...
This is an older hotel with all the basic necessities. Bed was comfortable. Unit was clean. The climb up the stairs could be a bit tedius for an older person so would request a ground floor cabin. Staff were helpful and pleasing. nothing that close to eat at but some are within walking distance. A bit away from downtown so you need to drive there. If you are looking for "fancy", this is not it but acceptable.

Nice little hide away, soon to be upgraded!Posted Jan 4, 2016
Pros: Cozy atmosphere, easy access to the highway and the downtown.
Cons: I would suggest an update to fixtures, furniture, and comforters, but I see that's underway.
Location: Everything is close! In the summer, you can easily walk to the downtown. There is a grocery store nearby, and the highway is easy to access.
The hotel was a nice, quaint, and rustic place to stay in the beautiful Canmore. At first, the room seemed smaller than I expected, but I soon grew to love the cozy cabin feel of it. The construction was log cabin style, and being surrounded by wood was fantastic. I will admit, the hotel was dated, but there were piles of supplies in some of the empty rooms indicating that the hotel is going to be undergoing a major update. even though it was dated, we were comfortable, and everything was clean. There was a nice pool house, but the hot tub was outside, and turned off for the winter season. We will definitely stay here again!

Blood covered roomPosted Jan 3, 2016
We arrived late , got ready and went out. In the am noticed blood all over fire place, coffee maker, chair, bathroom. Tried to talk to manager about it- they told us it was chocolate and offered 50% off the first night. Defiantly was not chocolate. I understand messy room or carpet, but blood transmitts disease- don't try and tell me it was chocolate

This hotel needs updating. Everything is old and dirty. Room temperature was far too hot and we could not adjust the temperature.
