Historic Bangkok hotel continues to delight

Dusit Thani was a wonderful place to stay in Bangkok. It's in Silom/Saladaeng, at the edge of the finance/embassy district, and so has some excellent restaurants nearby. It's next to Lumphini Park so I could get a lovely break from the traffic and crowds when needed - in a lovely expansive green space. I used both the 2 public transport lines - the metro and the sky train - which had stops very nearby. I was able to get in from the airport easily on the train with only 1 change and I went to the big shopping area in Siam/Chitlom, which is only a couple of stops away. I ate breakfast at the bakery, which was very good and I know, from a previous stay, that the Chinese restaurant inside the hotel is great. I also enjoyed the photos of all the famous figures who have stayed at the hotel over the years since 1968, when it was first built. The hotel even has its own waterfall cascading down from the pool area past the delightful large coffee/cocktails lobby. Service is good and I enjoyed staying inside the hotel, in their large pleasantly laid out rooms, as much as heading out to see Bangkok temples etc.
