The best view in Bangkok

Pros: The view, both from my room and the rooftop bar/10th floor infinity pool, is really incredible. I also loved the personalized level of service.
Cons: I do think the breakfast is a bit pricey for what you get.
Location: Sofitel So Bangkok is close to many of Bangkok's top attractions, including Lumphini Park, Silom Road, Siam Paragon and the Ratchprasong Intersection.
The Sofitel So Bangkok would be an excellent hotel anywhere in the world: Great design; impeccable staff; and killer attention to detail. It just so happens to be perched over Lumphini Park in the heart of Bangkok, though, which really makes it a one-of-a-kind experience. I've been to Bangkok over a dozen times and have probably stayed in 25 or so hotels there, and this is without a doubt the best.

I am surprised to read that you had such experience with us and that you had to go through such inconvenience. I must say that this is atypical and certainly far from our usual standards. Our So Staff are hand-picked by our management team after careful evaluation of their fit to our hotel and culture. They are all trained constantly and our service has a great reputation. However, this is absolutely unacceptable that you were asked to go out of the room while our housekeeping staff were cleaning your room. We provide cleaning services to refresh the rooms for our valued guests, but it is entirely the decision of our guests to receive the service. I am terribly sorry about the inconveniences again and rest assured that your comment has been passed on to the concerned teams to avoid any recurrence in the future. Vibrant atmosphere and great views

To me, it's a beautiful boutique hotel that aims to please young minded travelers. Might have something to do with that employees at the hotel are quite young - one manager told me most of the guys work there are in their 20's - and they contribute to the vibe that sofitel so has. The pool and gym area was clean and new - I was surprised to see quite a lot of people were out there 7 in the morning. The well known view from the pool was great. The skyline from the rooftop bar was awesome.
