Excellent, comfortable stay in Bangkok

Posted Sep 25, 2016
Pros: Convenient location. Being able to walk to Central Embassy (and its food court) without getting on the street level during a thunderstorm was huge!
Cons: Buffet breakfast. Tried to accommodate too many cuisines and not excelling at any one. Decent egg menu though.
Location: Connected via walkway to BTS and shopping malls nearby.
Okura Prestige Bangkok is located in Ploenchit area of Bangkok and is connected to BTS station of the same name. During our stay in Bangkok, it rained pretty much every night so it was extremely convenient to be able to get to BTS via skywalk without having to fight throng of people on the street with umbrellas. Hotel itself is very classy without being flashy. Okura being a Japanese chain, there was a Japanese speaking staff on most shifts except for graveyard. Breakfast buffet was underwhelming though, so we ended up eating at the Japanese restaurant except for the first morning. The Japanese breakfast set was a very traditional Japanese combination of small dishes and excellent. The coffee they served at the end of the meal upon request was individually brewed and very good too. Overall, a very clean and elegant hotel, located conveniently for many thing.

Pros:

very good location

Very good location, very close to the BTS, you can walk to the BTS station, Embassy shopping center, and Central Chilom Shopping center through undercovered connecting bridge and no need to go down on the street.

great quick stay

Posted Sep 17, 2016
Location: Business district, near large malls
stayed there for 1 day before flying home. Its a beautiful hotel with lovely rooms. Very high end. I recommend it for business stays. I went with my new wife and it didn't feel right for us unfortunately. It was clean and comfortable so for a day Its pretty good. rooms are not cheap so if you specifically are looking in this area definitely recommend it. however there are better areas in Bangkok to stay.

upscale Japanese hotel

Posted Sep 13, 2016
Pros: facilities and amenities were great and updated
Cons: Checkin was slow
Location: easy to get to the skytrain and then to the J&J market on the weekends
hotel, was clean and comfortable and the service was good, despite being sold out for a Japanese festival. The pool is great with great views of the city, and close to the skytrain which is a plus.

Infinite pool, excellent staff, polished hotel

Posted Sep 12, 2016
Pros: Infinite pool, outdoor balcony, shower, fruits and fresh tea in room, breakfast, nice gym
Location: The BTS overhead metro is right at the corner which is huge for getting around if you don't want to get rooked by cabs!
The highlight about this hotel is that you forget that your in the hectic streets of Bangkok as soon as you come to the lobby. It has a polished and expansive feel, with gorgeous views all around .There is a outdoor dining/bar balcony (small) but its very nice with a great elevated viewpoint, so the only drawback is you may not be guaranteed a seat if its a busy evening. The infinite pool is just amazing and can't imagine many other hotels, if any, having one comparable. The room was beautiful, had everything you would need and a big surprise was the stand in shower and tub enclosed together with waterfall shower head. The buffet breakfast was probably the most comprehensive experienced so far and the quality and variety of food was amazing!
