Updated hotel, 45 minutes to AcadiaPosted Aug 22, 2015
Pros: Convenient location. Modestly priced, considering the peak season and the location.
Cons: Update the common areas. Provide more natural light for hallways.
Location: Acadia National Park is within 50 minutes drive.
This is a motel that has been updated to a hotel. It is conveniently located in the downtown area, with lot of places to eat and shop. We were looking for a clean room to sleep and shower after long days of sightseeing and this room was adequate. The rooms were small though. The beds were double beds and would not sleep 2 kids comfortably. We ended up taking a roll away bed. This however, was our fault. We assumed that the beds would be queen sized, based on our stay at several other Choice Hotels in the past week. Adding the roll away bed took away the little open space in the room. We were in the room between 10PM and 8AM and hence did not care much. The musty smell and the low ceiling in the common areas gave the feeling that this was an old hotel. However, the room was updated. The room and the bathroom were clean albeit small. The news channels did not have voice! However, TV was not essential for us as the kids were glued to the hand held devices. The breakfast area and the lobby were clean. The staff were professional and helpful. The hotel is about 50 minutes drive to Acadia National Park. We were there during the peak season. All hotels closer to the park were either full or priced outrageously. This was compromise between the budget and the distance of travel.

Pros: It was close to everything we needed.
Location: Very close to the mall and other shopping stores. Also close to good restaurants.
The hotel was satisfying. It was close to everything we needed for our little get-away, such as shopping stores, the mall, restaurants, etc. The free breakfast was awesome and filling. Definitely going to go back again this summer.

overall not a bad location but a little outdated. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Feel the price was still a little high.
