The a condition of the room was not safe the keys was ot working properly the hotal was durty the breakfast you i could not eat it it was terrible. O fridge in roo. You had to pay if you wanted one.i paid to stay for one week i check out the next day. In to i ither hotel cheeper and a hole two bedroom property self contained i would not recommend this hotal the manger was rude. And no refund. Very bad experiences

The standard was quite low. No Refigerators in the rooms, no water was provided.the TV didn’t work and after 2 days one channel only. WiFi was dismal even in the lobby Was asked to pay for late checkout even though I got in at three am Breakfast did not have any Gambian food and omelettes were only with onions and nothing else

Thank you for your review which we welcome and look into issues that you didn't like in the property and try to improve.We do not offer refrigerators in the rooms. Bottled water and other beverages can be purchased from the bar area. We did not receive the complaint in house regarding your TV, And have not received complaints regarding this during the season, However, we will get the maintenance team to look into this. WIFI has been upgraded in the whole hotel this season and all repeater guests have mentioned how the WiFi has improved this season. Late check out after 12pm is chargeable regardless of time of check in. On Our daily breakfast, we serve Cereals, eggs, pancakes, porridge, fruit, baked beans, breads and other items.Thank you for your understanding and hope we can serve you better next time should you book with us.thank you.General Manager

Lovely quiet rooms nice onsite shopping private beach polite helpful staff comfy bed hot showers Could improve on food and drinks tonic water really tiny small size and just given in can no glass ice if improved on food and drink would be a really decent 4* hotel at the moment

Nice, clean and unassuming hotel on the beach. Well appointed rooms. Very good entertainment, pool and food. Excellent and welcoming staff. Real value for money. Part of the access road could be better but will recommend hotel anytime.

Location good for my needs
Good value for money and a great location for a bird watcher or those who like a quiet beach. Breakfasts were unexciting; staff friendly; some areas shabby but clean. I found the entertainment intrusive but others liked the activities and it was easy to get away. I preferred to eat just down the beach at the Konta Kinte

Nice hotel with some issues
Had a nice stay at Palm Beach despite ongoing issues with water going off all the time (room A76). Very annoying when you're trying to have a shower! We also found it very difficult to get a sun lounger around the pool so spent most of our time at the beach. Otherwise, as described. Staff very friendly and room was clean but basic. Due to the issues with the water, I would not stay at the hotel again.

Tired hotel lacking facilities
This is a run down hotel in an indifferent location. While the staff were friendly and the restaurant/ breakfast was OK, the service provided by the hotel is short of acceptable. The room was grubby and in desperate need of a spring clean/ refurbishment. There was a single towel (a second reluctantly given) and a small tablet of soap, but absolutely nothing else in the room (no toiletries, phone, hair dryer, glasses, information, etc.). Also expect to pay extra for a fridge (about £25 per week and about £20 a week to use the hotel safe). The rooms have air conditioning, but the hotel will try to charge extra to have it connected (around £35 per week). Mosquito nets are available if you ask. The wifi in the pool and reception areas (none in the rooms) seems to work reasonably well. I was there for three nights only, but would not recommend a longer stay. Like a number of other reviewers, I too had trouble with the lock on my room (which was replaced). Fortunately, security does not seem to be an issue in the area.

A nightmare.
I booked a room with airconditioning, minibar and daily housekeeping. But I got a room without airconditioning, without minibar and I didn't automatically get a clean towel daily. The first day there was no hot water, only a cold shower in this so-called three star hotel. There was not any mosquito protection in the room. The room was awfully hot, it was impossible to sleep. The doorlock was broken and difficult to unlock. The reception was totally uncapable, they couldn't care less, made up nonsense, denied all responsibility and refused to do anything. There is no shop anywhere near the hotel. Water must be bought in the hotel for 1,70 euro each bottle! The hotelshopkeeper clearly abuses his monopoly in a shameful way. The hotel is on the beach in the middle of nowhere in a tourist ghetto. Around the hotel it is full of parasite people that bother you all the time. You must take a taxi and haggle about prices any time you want to leave the hotel or need something.

Good overnight stop
Stayed twice for a single night when I needed a stopover to/from the north. Clean, comfortable, well-positioned, friendly staff. Food was OK. However I found the evening entertainment (first night cultural show; second night karaoke) intrusive as I wanted something more peaceful. Easy access to the beach and beach bar, plus less hassle than you get elsewhere once on the beach, made this a good overnight stop. I might find it a bit restrictive for a long stay.

Basic but nice
Nice Hotel considering its 2 star status, close to the beach which is nice and they spray the rooms with bug spray which is good! Hotel is basic but nice, overall good value for money but don't expect luxury because you won't get it, you can't beat it for Value in Gambia though.

our original room did not have air con so it cost us £70 each to upgrade for the remaining 13 nights..the area around the pool was beautiful bt the water in the pool itself was below standard due to the fact the filters were NEVER turned on.the food bar and service around the pool was very good. the pool sun beds are a joke as is the breakfast inside the restaurant . its self service and the food is left uncovered with flies all over the place. having said all that you cant really grumble for £300 a week. its not a place I would go on my honeymoon but its spot on if you don't mind roughing it. lots and lots of the guests go back there time and time again.

The Palm Beach is a good holiday and package hotel, not expensive, well located, and excellent value for money. Rooms were large, housekeeping was good - fresh sheets and towels every day, rooms well cleaned, staff very friendly and pleasant. No aircon in rooms, which is OK as long as the nights are cool. No TV in my room despite asking several times. But big screen in lobby bar made up for it. My room was at the back, well away from the pool and the evening entertainment, which I appreciated - although the music stops around 10.30 which is fine. I was impressed with the good security of the hotel and the lovely beach. The only downside was the breakfasts, which can definitely do with improvement (e.g. real coffee, more types of cereal).

I stayed at Palm Beach Hotel for about 7 nights and it was the best nights that i had.The hotel was my happy place those days. The ac was on the lowest number it could go to and the water for the shower was as cold as i needed. the room was simple but great. the power would go out but only in the mid day so that is when we were gone out and about any ways. we made friends with the front desk fast. the security guards always said hello and have a good day when we entered and left the hotel. they always checked in my brothers whenever they came which was everyday lol. There was breakfast every morning which Arnold is the supervisor of the kitchens and the best he told me to go to a local store that sold American food and he would have them cook it for me and never charged me extra. He was our go to guy when i got hungry. there was a live band at the hotel and everyday they had water polo being played. there was a painter by the pool named Usif (i think that's how you spell it) but he did all of the art work on the hotel. sweet guy we bought 3 pics from him even took pics while he painted them. our room was cleaned every day by the same person. i am happy to say that this hotel is not only a great place to pick but the people who work in it make it even better. this place became my home away from home while visiting The Gambia. Thank you to all who made my trip a happy one.

Overall it is a nice basic place with a beautiful
The hotel has nice basic rooms with good bathroom. A muscito net is not standard included, but can be provided by the reception. The bed is comfortable. Breakfast is sufficient. Dinner options in the hotel are very good: extensive menu and almost everything is well-prepared and good value for money. The beach place is nice, however, at the beach you will be approached by many locals who want to sell something or just want to talk a lot.

Basic hotel bij het strand.
Het is een zeer verouderd complex wat op sommige plaatsen wordt opgeknapt maar provisorisch. Badkamer in mijn kamer bijvoorbeeld was netjes maar zeer slordig afgewerkt, met een gat in de muur naast de spiegel. Plafond was nog oud, zat onder het cement. Matrassen waren hard, slechte kussens. Voor airco moet extra betaald worden. Ik kreeg wel een gratis (stoffig uitziende) fan. Kastdeuren gingen niet dicht. Wel was ik erg verrast met de Nederlandstalige tv-zender. Personeel is o.k.

Frukostbuffen var enkel, den sämsta jag ätit i Gambia och de mesta fanns inte framplockat förrän efter kl 8 trots att den började kl 7. Läget är perfekt alldeles vid stranden med vackra omgivningar, rummen är lagom stora och i ok skick. Städningen var dålig och vi fick be om toalettpapper varje gång de tog slut. Fick även be om att få sängkläderna bytta. Trevlig personal. Spenderade inte så mycket tid på hotellområdet utan va mest ute.

Hotel ma wszystko to co potrzebne do dobrego wypoczynku. Bardzo miła atmosfera i domowy nastrój. Mieliśmy być w nim dwa dni a zdecydowaliśmy się na czternaście. Byliśmy już w sześciu hotelach w Gambii (od Sheratonu po Mansi). Do tego na pewno wrócimy.

Good hotel at a great location.
Hotel ligt aan het strand, personeel is vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Het strand naast de monding van Kotu Creek is breder dan elders, het is schoon, drankjes zijn goedkoop en strandstoelen zijn gratis. vanuit het hotel is het ongeveer 20 minuten lopen naar Kololi, maar ook dichtbij het hotel zijn er genoeg restaurants en bars met live muziek. (rustiger dan Kololi) Eten aan pool-bar beach-bar is goed (standaard snacks; hamburger/frites, fried rice, kebab etc.). Ontbijt is eenvoudig. Het hotel is vlakbij de 18 holes golfbaan. (sets etc. te huur) Vogelspotters komen speciaal naar de kreek (google "kotu creek") die voor het hotel langsloopt. (wandeling begint bij de brug) Jan/feb 2015 was het hotel relatief goed bezet, voornamelijk Nederlanders en Engelsen. Niet veel ouders met kinderen, meestal tieners. Ik had 3 nachten geboekt in dit hotel, en heb later 10 dagen bijgeboekt. Waarschijnlijk verblijf ik volgende keer weer in dit hotel, omdat ik de plek goed vind en de prijs is zonder meer redelijk.

Es ist ein altes Hotel der ersten Bebauung In schöner geschützten Strandlage der bewacht ist und von Händlern frei gehalten wird. Die Anlage ist überwigend sehr dicht bebaut mit wenig Abstand zu den Nachbargebäuden und man sollte sich nach Ankunft ein geeigneteres Zimmer auswählen.. Gebäude am Pool mit Bühne meiden, dort ist es immer laut.. Zimmeraustattung einfach und zweckmässig, Bäder ok.

OK, men ikke mer.
Ligger litt ensomt til og det blir mye taxi, men taxiene utenfor hotellet var dyrere og dårligere enn ellers omkring. Kjøleskapet på rommet laget grusom lyd. Håndklærne ble hentet ca. kl.10 på morgenen, og vi fikk ikke nye før nærmere kl. 17. I perioden imellom var man altså uten håndklær. Frokosten var OK. De få gangene vi spiste middag,så var maten heller skral. Underholdning hver kveld var OK. Alt i alt et middelmådig hotell.

Der Aufenthalt war sehr entspannend. Das Hotel liegt direkt neben dem Strand und wird bewacht. Strandliegen kosten nichts. Das Frühstück ist einfach aber nicht schlecht. Einige Teile der Anlage sind etwas verwahrlost.
