Dark and Dull.

Tall, narrow convoluted layout, looks about 40 years older than it is. Dull exterior that was probably vivid and bright when new. Public areas smart, clean and modern, well maintained. Food excellent, very well prepared - better than several other recent hotel offerings. Restaurant and bar too small to accommodate guest capacity, especially weekends - underground carpark a nightmare, particularly at weekend. Room accommodation not generous, wardrobe almost unusable due to storage of hotel clutter. Room decor from the 70's, very, very dark and oppressive, do not be misled by room photos in publicity shots, they must have been done with lots of extra lighting. We choose a suite ( an extra sitting room), however, sparsely furnished - armchairs and sofa very worn, wall tv quite small with poor sound/ vision. Most paintwork worn and scuffed in rooms. Cracked wall tiles, quite a few, in bathroom. Very cramped, narrow showering area compared to other hotels. Streetlamp shining directly into sleeping area, barely 3 metres from window. Not the hotels fault of course, but we had paid extra for supposedly superior accommodation, which on reflection we did no get.
