We couldn’t get our heat to work (probably our bad for not asking). The staff was professional, courteous, friendly and helpful. The property was quaint and welcoming. They had 24 hour coffee which is a great idea but the staff may need training on how to make it. It was beyond strong and every cup was filled with coffee grounds. We walked around the corner for our good cup of coffee. The breakfast bar was suitable for a continental breakfast. We overall enjoyed our stay.

I really did not get to enjoy this hotel. I cancelled the trip because of the recent shooting in Maine (October). Unfortunately management at this hotel thought that my reason wasn't a valid one enough to refund my money. Unstead I received a credit to be used within a year. To some people this might be a good way to respond but to me is not because I don't know if I am going to be able to do this trip within a year. Also I want to point out that the person I spoke to was very rude, unsympathetic and insensitive.

Great, small boutique hotel right in downtown Bar Harbor. Convenient location right by the village green near shopping and restaurants. Third time to stay here and one of the few options for year round hotels.

I did not know construction was taking place at the property when I made the reservation. When I initially arrived I thought all the noise was perhaps due to removing snow from roof but as it continued I was told it was due to ongoing construction. It seemed like a clean enough and nice enough place, but I wasn’t interested in the noise so I left.

Quaint hotel near town. Provided bikes and other items for guests to use. Free breakfast with made to order omelette was nice but they were out of cheese for the omelettes. Room 2’s bathroom and shower were extremely small (think cruise ship) and the toilet was so enclosed it would be impossible for a larger person to use it.

Booked this for my mom and step dad for their wedding present, they couldn’t speak highly enough about how beautiful it was and conveniently it was located in town. They didn’t want for anything while there, if they did, staff was right there to accommodate. I dealt with the staff a few times before the trip and they were super friendly, helpful, and took the extra time to make my parents room a bit more special. 5 out of 5 all the way around!

A wonderful stay at the Acadia Hotel , downtown Bar Harbor. Great staff . So convenient to walk everywhere . Wonderful breakfast served daily . Coffee , Tea , Hot chocolate bar open 24 hrs . Made our stay in Bar Harbor Maine the best .

Great location in a great town. The hotel is right in town making access to all Bar Harbor has to offer easy. Not an issue for us, but the lone drawback could be a second-story room if you have trouble with stairs as there is no elevator. Great place to stay!

The service was bad, they’re not friendly at all. The room we stayed no fan or window in the bathroom. The towels was old, thin, cheap. They didn’t even has a tissue paper. The television is fussed with limited selection. Ripped off price to stayed, not comeback for sure.. ruined my staying, enjoy there.

A nice hotel but: very expensive - regretted spending that much money. Windows did not open. Smell of chlorine in room was overwhelming had to leave door open for hours. Room was very tiny too tight for so much money. Bar Harbor is TOO crowded. Unfortunate. Staff was nice but did not really go out of their way. Also Abbe Museum, which we came specifically to visit was closed on weekend. Have never known a museum to be closed on weekend. How is is with the numbers of tourists in Bar Harbor this wonderful museum of Native American culture is closed? Sorry to say. The redeeming factor was a long beautiful walk on the Acadia Carriage Trails. That could be done from a reasonable motel.

Hello Carolyn,Thanks for taking the time to write us a review! I am sorry our hotel wasn't what you expected. We have no control over how crowded Bar Harbor is, and neither do we with the Abbe Museum. If you had stayed more than one night, I guarantee you, you would have loved Bar Harbor. This weekend was extremely busy due to the yearly Marathon.

My Hallmark Movie Stay
Acadia Hotel was conveniently located to everything we planned to do in Bar Harbor. We did not move our car at all. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was part of the wrap around porch so in the evenings after a long day exploring the park we sat on the porch and drank a little wine or soda and people watched. We saw other guest also utilizing the porch or seating area in the front. It reminded me of a place in a Hallmark Movie.

Cable TV was not in HD which was disappointing. Not that I spent lots of time in the room. Make sure your in room AC filters are clean, ours was not but they did clean upon request!

DO NOT STAY HERE. Pictures do not show what’s really here. It’s very dated, old, damp. The carpet throughout is filthy. The carpet in our room was always damp and disgusting to walk on. The sheets and towels stained, and the sheets are the poorest quality. Pillows are old flat pancake pillows. Nobody cleaned our room after our first night. The second day they cleaned but did not clean up the leak from the old hand soap bottle that has been used by countless guests. There was also a pile of dirty towels on a chair in the lobby outside our room. Completely unsanitary. There is a bar set up in the lobby for coffee and drinks. I picked up a wine glass that still had lipstick on it. Not clean. I will never stay here again.
