Thank you for a fabulous stay.Posted Aug 23, 2015
Pros: Location, staff and facilities.
Location: Location was central and close to all amenities.
We were really impressed with the room, especially the fact that we had a living room as well as an en suite. The four poster bed was a lovely touch too. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, assisting us with any questions or enquiries we had. The location was fabulous as it was within walking distance of the town. They had got enough parking close by and the breakfast was very tasty. Again, the staff assisted us by providing gluten free bread as I'm a coeliac and even gave us breakfast early as we had booked an early sea kayaking trip. Overall I would thoroughly recommend this hotel.

A very nice B&B with a stellar staff.Posted Aug 23, 2015
Pros: Clean rooms and great staff
Location: Hiking,biking, kayaking,strolling around town.
The Castlemaine is on a quiet street just a short walk from Main Street and the Harbor. The breakfast is very good offering 2 choices. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. Dan is very knowledgeable about Mount Desert Island and Acadia National Park. He was like a friend in town giving good advice on where to hike and kayak. Bobbie took care of our stay, and provided information on where to go in town. I would recommend the Castlemaine Inn to anyone traveling to Bar Harbor. I will definitely stay again next visit.

Enjoyed our 2 night stay at Castlemaine Inn. Friendly knowledgeable staff and convenient location. Easy walk to Bar Harbor town, shops, restaurants, and dock. Just a short drive to gorgeous Acadia National Park. The Inn serves tasty fresh breakfasts. We really enjoyed French Toast stuffed with banana with fresh blueberries on top! Our room was spacious with a sitting area and comfortable King bed.

Charming, friendly, quiet - great location.Posted Jul 25, 2015
Location: Great restaurant - Cafe This Way - superior to all others we tried in town.
What an oasis - a calm, quiet , charming place in an otherwise busy and noisy town of Bar Harbour. Dan could not have been nicer or more patient, the 3rd floor Eyebrow suite was outstanding - lots of fresh air, quiet by 9:30 and so spacious and charming. If we are in Bar Harbour again we will stay here. Highly recommend it!

Best place in Bar Harbor to stay by far. Walking distance to everywhere and quiet enough so you do not hear the hustle and bustle of the traffic or people.

Convenient Bed and BreakfastPosted Jul 12, 2015
Pros: We love the location of this hotel. It is very close to main roads, but also close to the touristy part of Bar Harbor.
Cons: By the third night we were wishing for more comfortable beds. The mattresses seem to be either old, or not supported correctly.
Location: This hotel is located within walking distance of- a supermarket, laundry, gas station, bike rental shop, restaurants, shopping and parks.
This was the second time my partner and I stayed at this bed and breakfast. The location really can't be better- it's far enough away from the busy part of town that outside noise is not an issue, but it's close enough that you can easily walk to restaurants and shopping. It is also a short drive to an entrance to Acadia, which we like to visit often. The first time we stayed here we had a room with a queen bed on the second floor. This time we had the Honeymoon Suite with a king bed and jacuzzi tub in the bathroom. The decor in this hotel is pretty old-fashioned and most of the furniture is comprised of antiques. The beds are not particularly comfortable and the TVs and VCRs (yes, you heard right) are fairly old, but we didn't spend a whole lot of time in our room, since there is so much to do in Bar Harbor. The staff is very friendly and helpful.
