Cove's Edge Seaside Cottage offers you an opportunity to sample all that Acadia National Park has to offer. You can enjoy lobster, chowder, dining out, boating, sailing, canoeing, kayaking, ocean and freshwater swimming, hiking, walking, bicycling, blueberry picking, birding, garden touring, shopping in quaint boutiques, and more -- or just get some quiet relaxation and reading time in. You are surrounded by gorgeous ocean views that you can enjoy from nearly every room in the house. And you are steps away from your own private stretch of beach, where you can put in a canoe or kayak, beach comb for shells and sea treasures, or simply enjoy the view out to Maine's famous island-dotted shore, with the Nature Conservancy's Placentia Island in the distance, and Swan's Island just beyond. Every bedroom has an en suite bath. You are less than five minutes' drive from the Acadia National Park trails called Wonderland and Ship's Harbor, which bring you out to gorgeous rocky bluffs along the open ocean and Maine's famous rocky coast. A minute more and you're at Bass Harbor Head Light, the most photographed lighthouse on the U.S. East Coast. In five minutes you’re in Southwest Harbor with ample opportunities for shopping, dining, and boating; in two more minutes you’re hiking Acadia Mountain or swimming in Echo Lake; and in ten minutes you're in Bar Harbor, with its quaint shops, restaurants, whale watching, naturalist boating, sailing, deep-sea diving, Park tours, and many other opportunities.

Cove's Edge Seaside Cottage is a 3-bedroom, 3-bath house right on the water with your own access to a private stretch of pebbled shore, with expansive views of the cove, islands, and open ocean beyond. It has a game room and two relaxing patios in addition to living, kitchen, and dining rooms with high-end, custom finishes in this architect-designed home. Great secluded Maine experience
Our family loved staying in Duck Cove! The house provided ample space for our family to spread out and have their own space. The house was well stocked for travelers - Joy and Peter thought of most things a traveler would need. The house was clean, neat and well cared for. It was quiet and secluded which is nice after a spending time in the busy streets of Bar Harbor. We enjoyed the yard, beach/cove area, and grill (we grilled our “catch” after a day of fishing and other meals). It is close to Bass Harbor and Southwest Harbor which provides all the necessities (groceries, restaurants (Beal’s vs Thurston’s), and shopping. Thank you Joy and Peter for making sure our every need was addressed. Great stay!!! We would definitely stay here again!!

Fall visit
We really enjoyed our stay. The property was lovely and well maintained. Had everything we needed. Sunrises were beautiful. We travelled with another couple so the layout was perfect where we each had our own space and separate bathrooms. The location is in a quiet neighborhood only a short 20 minute ride to Bar Harbor where it was quite busy. Easy access to many hiking trails in Acadia. There are good choices for restaurants near by in Southwest Harbor, our fave was Hearth & Harbor. Overall a great stay. Will definitely be back!

Beautiful home
This is a really lovely home on the banks of an inlet. There were 5 of us and it was a very good size for our group. Beds are comfortable, and the view out the back is beautiful. One thing that may need attention is the musty smell in the basement. We enjoyed playing ping pong down there, and opened the windows for fresh air, but they might want to consider a dehumidifier. This is a waterfront property, but due to the tides, there are times when the water isn't in the bay. We were a little surprised by the lack of water when we first arrived at low tide, but then we enjoyed watching it come and go. Overall, a good trip. We went to Acadia twice, and especially liked Cadillac Mountain. The crowds were pretty bad, even in September, so we drove over to the Schoodic Peninsula, which is much quieter and just as beautiful. We drove into Bar Harbor twice, but the crowds were bad there too. Fortunately, we found good restaurants and shopping in other areas, so didn't feel like we missed out on anything.

The quiet side of the island
Great location on 'the quiet side of the island'. Close enough to all the sights of MDI, but without the crowds. The house is right on the cove with a great view of the water. There's plenty of room for a family with a large screened porch and a smaller deck off the kitchen. Everything was very clean and well maintained, and the hosts were very helpful, responsive and communicative. Well worth a visit!

Even better than you think!
My family and I have stayed in a lot of Maine rentals. Being able to successfully decipher rental listings is still something that eludes me. We booked later than we should have and this was one of the only houses available for a 2-week stretch so we felt we were settling a bit. WE WEREN'T! This house should be booked all summer! This house was great! The pictures really don't do it justice. The grounds are beautiful, the gardens and landscaping magical and that's all before you go down the new wooden staircase to the rocky beach where the pines meet the sea. Easy access for kayaking and paddleboarding or just swimming. It's not a huge beach area, depending on the tide but it's just enough - I spent hours watching the kids play and reading in the sun. Southwest Harbor, the house's closest town center is just enough. Not packed like Bar Harbor you feel like this is your town - It has really good food (Little Notch and Eat-A-Pita (don't be fooled by that name), shops, ice cream (Salt Shop), wine and cheese (Sawyer's Wine) and a small market (Sawyer's). When they say "The way life should be" this is what they mean. Passed Southwest Harbor is a quick drive to Echo Lake and Acadia. Tremont is a great home base from which to explore a really wonderful part of Maine! The house was well equipped with all the pots and pans, great chopping knives, serving dishes, etc you could need. The kids loved the ping pong table in the basement rec room area. The beds could be more comfortable but I think they are new as there were recent improvements/repairs to the house. Note: the shower upstairs in one of the bedrooms did not function as a shower, only a bathtub and bringing more bath towels than the owner supplies wouldn't be a bad idea. The screened in porch was my favorite place! The owners were kind and responsive and very helpful.
