Mom and Pop hotel and restaurantPosted Aug 27, 2016
Pros: The helpful employees.
Cons: The entire motel needs a serious facelift!
Location: Relatively close to Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor. Good sightseeing in the area. Within 2 hrs. drive of Canadian border, Campobello Island.
We have stayed at this motel before, but were disappointed to find that there had been no real improvements to the rooms. The carpet was threadbare, and very stained. The bath still had 1950's fixtures and tile. Smoke alarm appeared to be non-functional. Baseboard heat was rusted and dusty. Air conditioner was dusty. Bed was hard as a rock. Free breakfast consisted of coffee (no decaf) and tiny store-bought blueberry muffins. Motel lobby had a bucket in the middle of the floor, to catch the water leaking through the ceiling. Restaurant, which was pretty good last time we were there, was mediocre. The help were all very nice, cheerful, and pleasant, but oblivious to the deterioration around them.

Good for a one nightPosted Apr 12, 2016
Pros: Excellent price, friendly staff, pet friendly
Cons: The walls between rooms are a bit thin, as we could hear the people next to us talking late at night.
Location: Definitely recommend taking the drive to Bar Harbor and Acadia National park.
This was a good place for our short one night stay on our trip to pick up kittens. The motel is convenient to shopping and dining, plus only a short drive from Bar Harbor. The staff was very nice, and the pet friendly status was ideal for our intended trip.

Very pleased with my stayPosted Feb 10, 2016 on Hotels
Came to Maine to look for summer cottage real estate and ran into snow storm Lexie which forced me to extend my stay. The hotel room was cozy, very comfortable and close to restaurants, groceries, LL Bean and other stores. Virginia was very friendly and extremely helpful during my stay. I'd highly recommend this motel to those who want a comfortable room with moderate cost and very supportive staff in a good location.
