Perfect location for exploring both Bar Harbor (short walk) and Acadia (less than a mile by bike to the carriage paths). Breakfast restaurant on the grounds (Looking Glass) is delicious and features an unparalleled view. The setup of the hotel is more a motel format, but our room was quiet and the beds comfy. Great, friendly staff; check-in and -out were no problem.
Our only issues were a few small glitches in the room: the safe wasn't reset (thus unusable); the shower door wouldn't stay closed; some fruit flies in the sink. One day was cold and wet (for the summer) and when we tried the heat, it was super-smelly and dusty. Many of these issues could have been quick fixes if we'd bothered mentioning them, but they weren't a big deal. Upon check-out, when we told the front desk about the heat, they were eager to fix it and made a note for maintenance.
I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again - the location is absolutely perfect. We're pretty low-maintenance travelers, so if you're one that likes to complain about every small inconvenience, you might not love it. We'd choose it again, though!
