This facility is just a shadow of what it used to be. I am a twenty-year customer, and the Accra is at a low point. Everything is being done as cheaply as possible - there is no hot water in the evenings (not even once during the week) and the food - such as it is - is unacceptable. On the first day we tried out the $35 USbreakfast, only to find an hour before it ended that the food was lukewarm and half the trays were empty. On the plus side, there are a number of good breakfast places nearby that deliver a far better experience; after our first attempt, we spent no more money on food at the Accra. The beach is absolutely excellent and although the resort itself could use a freshening up with interior paint it is presentable. The pool bar closes at 4pm, and by 9pm the place is pretty much shut down. No night life to be found here. The rooms are acceptably clean, but as other reviewers have noted, they could use an updating. A single sheet on the bed (nothing else) requires some careful thermostat juggling. Our room contained only one table lamp. Overall, I really wanted to like the Accra, but it gives the impression that it has little interest in delivering a quality vacation experience. The issue here is not the facility itself - it is poor execution.

The property was very outdated and not kept up. The bathroom was full of mold, places on the floor not even touched with a broom nor mop. The breakfast looked like straight cafeteria. Smh. And the cost was $35 USA

Hotel rum smelled muggy. Elevator had a spilled drink that was there awhile. Gym was dirty. Went out and came back and could not get back into my room because the battery on the door lock was dead. Had to wait for maintenance. Staff was friendly and professional.

Property is quite old, and common areas are a bit dirty. Specially hallways, and pool on Kids side. Other important think is we got there late at night, no drinking water in the room and no vending machines in the property to purchase anything to eat or drink. My husband had to walk by the dark streets for 20 minutes to get to the gas station, the only open place around it. I was sick and needed something to drink.

The beach and beach chairs were very nice, as well as the pool. The dining options were good, but there were lots of very nice restaurants within walking distance. The only negatives were that there was no dedicated concierge, there were no daily activities planned like pool aerobics, beach games, etc, and our room was listed as having a hot tub on the balcony and when we arrived we found out there were no working hot tubs on the balconies, they have all been non-functioning for quite a while. This caused us a bit of a delay in getting a room since we switched rooms since our hot tub was not a factor. Other than these things, the rooms were very nice. I would visit again.

1. The welcome drink made me puke for 3 hours the first night we arrived. 2. Our first room (240) smelled so bad of mold that we had to relocate. I used to live on an island; I'm used to musty rooms. This room made me feel sick. 3. Our new room (482) was a Jr. Suite which sounds great. Unfortunately, it had the MOST UNCOMFORTABLE BED I've ever slept on in my life. I woke up in so much pain. We ended up taking the bedroll from the pull out couch and putting it on the mattress just to try to avoid the bed springs. 4. Water pressure and hot water was in short supply (in the suite!!) 5. The Jacuzzi tub was rusted and dirty and the water pressure so low and water so cold that it was completely useless. 6. The hotel restaurant is insanely pricey and has a very hard time accommodating any allergies. It's the most we spent on food and the worst we had on the island. 7. Check out; there was a brown haired white lady that treated us like garbage at checkout. She looked like she was in charge, but she was unfriendly, rude, and I was glad to be leaving. The only positives: the beach and location isn't bad, but not worth what they charge and the horrible back pain and nausea (from the mold and welcome drink.) I've stayed in hundreds of hotels on my lifetime. I would only send people I hated to this hotel. Good luck if you already booked.

Staff service levels varied dramatically - the baggage guys were GREAT (room keys didn't work when we arrived so the guy took them back to reception to get them redone for us, received a call from the baggage guy to see if we needed help before checkout). The reception staff was just OK-we received an upgraded room (yay!) but I had to go to reception to get beach towels & was not given towel cards (there was no food, drink, towel, etc service on the beach) & later when I tried to exchange the wet towels for fresh ones none of the 3 reception staff would look at or acknowledge me so I gave up & dried them in the room. Then at checkout I was told to put our towels in a bin across the lobby ?really? I left them on the counter.The worst experience was at the beach bar when the night bartenders (2 guys) couldn't manage to get us a bill for 2 non-alcoholic drinks - after 30 mins of watching them go in circles we asked for the menu again (to get prices), left cash & walked off.They were not busy & others were also having the same problem getting/paying their bills. The beach is beautiful in front of the resort, rooms are OK (bed was comfortable) & there are restaurants/shopping nearby. Not sure if I would return or not...

This was our third time at this property, the last one being in 2019. The hotel has continued to go down hill, it seems like they just don't care about the property or their guests. I have provided bullet points below on some of the challenges. We will never stay here again. - Arrived at 4pm and our room was not ready, it wasn't available until almost 6pm - Checkin is brutal, they don't ask if you've stayed at their hotel previously or provide any information on the property - Rooms were dated, dirty and not taken care of, this is the same for the overall property as well - Didn't have housekeeping services for 4 out of 10 days - Asked for a blanket for our bed as it only had a sheet, this took 24 hours to get and we had to ask 4 times - Air conditioning broke down and took 24 hours to fix - Lack of food options as one of their restaurants has closed down. Note, they are still advertising the restaurant as being open - Buffet breakfast quality is very poor and way overpriced at almost $100 Canadian for 2 people - The hotel bars were closed most nights by 9pm, if not earlier - Checkout was also terrible as they did not thank you for staying or ask if you enjoyed your stay - The best was to describe this hotel is that it is a 2 star hotel on a 5 star beach

Avoid this hotel at all costs. Says 4 star but I’ve stayed in better 1-2 stars. While it has a spectacular location on beautiful Rockley beach and good architecture, everything goes downhill from there Cons: Terrible service( staff are unfriendly, I got a grumbled “what do you want?”) House keeping is a nightmare (we arrived hours before checkin and let the front desk know, and reminded at 230pm, even so at 3pm our room wasn’t ready and I got a generic “whenever housekeeping will be done” with no estimate of when to expect in hot muggy weather. Front desk guy said he is calling housekeeping to check but was clearly not calling.upon finally getting a room and over the next few days all I saw is house keeping carts with loitering staff busy on their phone. The employees from hell one lady was on browsing on her phone while idly mopping with another hand to the side creating a wet mess in a common bathroom without so much as a sign to warn it’s wet. Expectedly bathrooms were not clean) MOLD- there was clearly mold in our ocean view suite’s bathroom. The exhaust fan wasn’t working and there was a definitive mold smell. Housekeeping came by and we asked them to fix the exhaust fan. After 3 days nothing. I could see black mold! Developed an allergy, runny nose, scratchy throat and eventually fever from staying in the room and the staff could t be bothered. This place will kill you, stay away. Ruined our Barbados trip. I booked an ocean front room with a jacuzzi tub on the balcony. We were given a pool view room which is several categories cheaper. I asked to speak to the manager and he said there wasn’t anything he could do. The desk clerk and manager were so rude. And by the way, all of the jacuzzis don’t work. The next morning I went down to the desk and was finally given the ocean front room that I reserved. The room had little water pressure. The overhead fan did not work. There wasn’t hot water. We took cold showers. Wow. Not a good experience. The hotel is crumbling. Old yellow caution tape surrounds what was once the poolside bar. The pool water is so cloudy you can’t see your hands never mind the bottom. The Accra has one of the best locations. It is near many wonderful restaurants and an easy walk to calm water beaches. The breakfast was good with personalized omelets. The happy hour was wonderful with music Friday and Saturday.

I've been coming to this hotel for over 10 years and every time it's a great experience. The hotel is beautiful, comfortable, quiet, clean, very well located and the staff is so kind, friendly and very accommodating. They have live music by the beach starting late afternoon and it's wonderful. It's not too loud and the choice of music is excellent. Thank you Accra for another wonderful stay and I look forward to many more to come.

The hotel staff was very nice and accomodating. The hotel is situated in a convenient spot, for food and entertainment. Beach access is very conveient as well, very clean.

Ran down and the staff was not friendly at least to me I’m sure people of a different look had a great time. All the beach chairs were being held by a towel with no one in sight the same at the pool. Will not return or recommend. You island people should be ashamed of yourselves. You’re black too you know and not all white people have money. My accent shouldn’t determine my treatment. TF

All in all we were very happy with our stay in an ocean view room with terrace. Good cleaning service. Good location, nice beach, nice pool, close to boardwalk, restaurants and coffee shops, across from a convenient little mall, near a pharmacy and urgent care medical center next door (if needed). Easy free parking for our rental car. We mostly ate out so cannot really comment on the food. We appreciated the option to book a hospitality room for 30 min the afternoon of our departure to allow for shower and change before heading for the airport. With a few upgrades the hotel could be even better: why not invest in new showerheads and sufficient nice beach sunbeds for all and accord more attention to keeping the beautiful beach clean (removing the seaweed).

Great location with shopping and food options close to public transport which was easily accessible . The rooms are upgraded and comfortable . The staff are pleasant. More attention is required for the little thing's ie the pool steps had green moss, the pool chairs had mildew and the corridor carpet need vacuming. Plus my room was not cleaned until around 4 pm every day.

This was our third time at the property and we always enjoy it. This time we saw significant decline in the upkeep of the property. Examples were electrical switch plates falling off wall, in room safe not working but the most frustrating part was that Expedia advertised our room with a jacuzzi tub on the balcony and charged us more. However the property said they have not been running in years. I’ve recommended Accra in the past to many friends but I am not able to any longer.

There was no ice!!!! We had to go hunting for Ice!!! No ice machines! Room was disappointing! We were put in the old section without a balcony. No working fan in the bathroom.There was no safe in our room either. The pool area was very nice, and it’s location with access to the boardwalk was also nice. Most staff were friendly.

We love the Rockley area and this was our 2nd time staying at this establishment. Well situated in rockley and walking distance to amenities. Decent pool and board walk access. They need to pay attention to the Gym. However we will definitely come again.
