this hotel will set a benchmark for all new hotels

Pros: everything about the hotel made you feel special and relxed
Cons: nothing
Location: A little bit further out of the madness of the tourist area but there is lots of beautiful buildings and good eating places where the locals go
you open the secure doors to a world of modern design with a hint of the traditional. From the luxurious curtains that drape the walls to the high quality flooring, this is presents a haven of tranquility close to the centre of Barcelona. All the furnishings are of the highest quality with the bathrooms outstanding with high end toiletries and robes. The food complimented the rest of the hotel and the staff was excellant.

Extremely comfortable hotel

Pros: The comfort of the bed, the garden, the service, the blackout curtains, the rainshower room, the tranquility.
Cons: The restaurant is very overrated - out of the tasting menu - two of the dishes were outstanding, two were really unpleasant and 5 were average.
Location: Take the 196 bus up the hill to Mirablau - for a stunning view over all of Barcelona.
Luxury hotel offering high level of comfort, peace and tranquillity, set in a lovely garden on a hill overlooking Barcelona. Although, out of the main tourist areas, it is very convenient for the Metro and buses into town. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, including providing us with a kettle to make tea in our room. Spa facilities, including pool are on offer as well as a 2* Michelin restaurant. It is, however, very expensive.

Nice hotel, close to the underground

Cons: The hotel was clean overall but it was a little shabby in places. Not cleaned behind or underneath the bed. Dust in light fittings. Acceptable
A very warm welcome, with bubbly. Nice staff, with good English. However, they were a little young for a five star hotel. Nice room, copious breakfast.

Awesome breakfast! Very high tech gadgetry in rooms, some of which was non-functional. A lot of form over function (which Gaudi would not design or approve of!). Very nice, very helpful staff. Very close to Metro station.

An excellent boutique hotel

Pros: Excellent location, superb staff and absolutely fabulous restaurant.
Location: We visited the Park Guell which is a short 10 minute taxi ride and walked the neighborhood which consists of avenue retail and high end residential.
My wife and I stayed in the ABaC Restaurant & Hotel for our final day after visiting Spain for the past 16 days. It was a wonderful culmination to our visit and with notable service excellence.

Quiet boutique hotel. But not SLH standard.

Pros: Quiet, out of the way, nice gardens, great food.
Cons: Guest service is poor vs SLH expectations. Bar/restaurant closed 2 days/week. Turn down service spotty. Poor concierge service.
Location: Remote, residential. Nothing to do near by. Must taxi everywhere.
Under whelmed vs the reviews and the rates. It's really a restaurant first and a hotel second and it's hard to find a chef who can both operate a Michelin Star restaurant and a SLH property and under the same roof. This is a great example of that rule. We had to haul our luggage ourselves up to the front desk. That should have been a warning. Turn down service never happened one night, came after 10pm the other nights. We waited until 5pm one day and then had to call to get our room cleaned. The hotel is remote from any of the major Barcelona attractions and one must taxi everywhere, including for lunch/dinner/drinks Sunday/Monday as these hotel services are closed those days. The area is residential/commercial. The nearest major park/attraction is a 1.6 Km mostly uphill (read steep) walk thru not so good areas. Taxis are easy to find and rates not bad but still a pain to do daily and very few drivers speak English. Have addresses written down to give the driver.
