Nice hotel, city not so great

We arrived REALLY early and although room was not ready the staff welcomed us & stored our bags. Hotel dining room was way understaffed & I'd go somewhere else for dinner. Pickpocketed on the mass transit train, so what you hear about Barcelona is true - - watch your wallet, there are a lot of thieves. I saw the lady who did it, just too late to do anything about it. BEWARE!

Very nice hotel in an out-of-city-center area.

Pros: The bathroom was very nice, large, and clean. The beds are amazingly comfortable.
Cons: The air conditioning, though the temperature said 18 degrees C, still did not feel that way and, in fact, the room remained quite warm and humid.
Location: There are many restaurants and cafes nearby as well as a small mall. It is mainly residential. One can walk to the beach--about 30 minutes, but doable
The hotel is much better than many in Europe in both size and facilities. It is in an area that is quite far from the City Center; however, this does make it quieter and certainly more modern. The dining room food was of marginal quality for lunch; however, breakfast was reasonable. Room service food was much better. The staff was very helpful and the front-desk staff spoke excellent English, which was helpful.

Great location, close to the beach and metro.

The staff at this hotel are excellent. They made us fell very welcome and took very good care of us. The location is excellent. There are a lot of great restaurants right outside the hotel and the hotel restaurant is also great. The metro is walking distance as is the beach.

Great place to stay

Pros: very comfy room.
Cons: I was going to take a bath but it would not plug. Kinda bummed
Location: Just down the street on the way to the beach is a wonderful restaurant called Colom. I highly recommend it.
the hotel was very convenient to so many attractions. It is within walking distance of a nice beach and closed the building known as the bullet. Depending on how well you hold to walking you could also walk to the La Sagrada Família and other attractions are a short taxi or metro ride away. Though there was a little confusion about weather the breakfast was included. The food itself was delicious.

Friendly staff and great location.

Very friendly and helpful hotel staff. Location was central and close to a beach and restaurants with great food. Easy transportation to and from. Would recommend it to other travelers.

Unpleasant Sheraton stay in Barcelona.

Overall the hotel was sub-standard. The room lighting was very poor and therevwas no chair for reading comfortably. Housekeeping was quite spotty and we repeatedly received no soap or washcloths in the bathroom. Service in the restaurant was abominable. Our first morning I told the hostess that I did not want the breakfast buffet so she seated me in the second area with an ala carte menu where I was ignored. I flagged a server down after 5-10 minutes and thay finally took my order but it still took another 5 minutes to get a cup of coffee. Same on second visit so I started going to a local restaurant instead. On the last day I tried the hotel restaurant again but started a stopwatch to see just how long it would take. At four and a half minutes a front desk person wandered by and I mentioned that I would like to speak with her and related my story. At six minutes I saw her talk to a server who approached my apologetically. Spoke to the manager about my miserable experience and recommended training fir their servers We were traveling with friends and had a drink with them one night in the hotel bar where the only red wine on the menu was Tempranillo. I know it is the wine of Spain but 8-10 of them and nothing else? After spending the previous 5 days at the Lisbon Sharaton that was a dream, the Four Points Sheraton was definitely in need of help.
