It was a great experience. The only thing I would recommend is to work on the smell of the rooms. I could smell humidity so strongly.

Overall, had a lovely one night stay. The gentleman that received us (Brayko) was extraordinarily helpful, sweet, and interested in our experience (despite us being in a rush when we arrived). The bedding was comfortable, the towels were large and fluffy, there were bottles of water and chocolates waiting for us, the common area has nespresso pods and tea - a bunch of nice little touches. The location is convenient (we wanted somewhere close to the aerobus for getting to and from the airport). A few points to note: - when arriving, it is critical to communicate with reception because they will not be waiting for you unless you tell them when you'll be there (we learned this the hard way) - we booked through hotels.com, but they did not receive confirmation of my payment (I had booked about 24h prior) and this created a little bit of check in drama

Property itself was very conveniently located for my needs. Price was good. On the other hand, check-in on a Sunday morning (10am) was a bit of a mess. I was handed a wrong set of keys. I couldn’t enter the property when coming back in the afternoon at 2pm, when my room was ready. Nobody at the reception. I contacted the property manager and I was asked to try the keys over and over again but they were totally wrong keys. Luckily after a while somebody came out from the building and I was able to enter. Just when I was about to leave and book an other place to stay, a friendly person returned to reception and handed me the right set of keys. I ended up missing one important meeting because of the key mess. Which I’m very sad about. No actual apology or any sort of refund offered by the manager. They had a day off! Place itself was still nice but make sure your keys work!! I’m sure my experience was just one off and bad luck. Hopefully it is not the way how the property operates.

It is a petty that you do not remember this, as I did it several times.The reason why we leave this whatsapp number is precisely because we do not have reception 24 hs, as we always inform previously in all our websites and then reason why I came back to the hotel it was not just casualty. As soon as my colleague informed me about your insident with the keys I went as fast as I could specifically to assist you.I am really sorry that you lost what it might have been a really nice Sunday meeting. I sincerely appologize for that.On the other hand, I am not sure who told you that the manager was off, because she never is and anyways you also did not ask for a refund, which you could also have done the next day (Monday) as you stayed two nights.I do agree with you that it was bad luck, as it is the first time that this happens, at least that I know.I am glad that despite of all these you were able to enjoy your stay in the city, as you told me the next day.I hope you had a safe trip back!Kind regards,Sara - The HBC Team

The staff were extremely helpful here. The room was very comfortable and contained chocolates, a shaving kit, and quality shampoo and conditioner. I highly recommend this hotel.

We loved the Hostal. It’s a unique building, for he rooms were clean, and the staff was extremely accommodating. We arrived early so they stored our luggage and delivered it to our room when the room was ready. They also arranged a 3:45 am taxi pickup for us. Exceptional value for the price.

Wonderful location, especially for visiting the Gaudí Casas! Very friendly and helpful staff (and superb with at least 4 languages: English, French, Catalan, and Spanish). Clean and bright! My ONLY complaint is because I have a fat butt and the toilet in my particular room was so close to the shower, I felt a bit cramped. But that was a minor inconvenience.

Very disappointed!!
The area around is great, but unfortunately I was extremely disappointed with the rooms and the hotel. Let me start by clarifying that this is not a hotel, but a motel. This was my fault because I did not read where it said Postal and not hotel On the name of this place. We were supposed to just be 3 of us in the motel, but last minute we added an extra persons so we called the motel and told us it was fine and they would just add an extra bed. They gave us 2 full beds and 2 extra extremely small beds. We barely had any room to walk and the bathroom was really small. I am still in shocked I stayed in a place like this.

Service 5* - From booking to check in was a seamless journey. We were contacted by the Hostal as soon as it was confirmed to confirm the time of arrival and directions from our port of arrival, which was a great touch. Check in was quick and easy, and within 20mins, we were back out the door again. Jean at the reception was particularly helpful, offering useful tips on the more local things to do and see around the vicinity and marking them carefully onto our map. Rooms 5* - The room itself was big – it was just my husband and I that stayed, but we got a room with a double and single bed. The room was very clean, and the bathroom was lovely. They provided toiletries and towels, which is always a plus. There’s a TV and free Wi-Fi. The windows are soundproof, so there was no sound coming through from the streets. Facilities 4.5* - There is a common area with sofas, where there is a shared fridge (very clean), teas, coffee and fruit. You can also store luggage at the hostel. Location 5* The location is fantastic! We walked everywhere, and within 20mins, you were in different locations around the hospital. Sagrada Familia, La Rambla, Passieg de Gracia are all minutes away. There are some great bars around the hostel, so if you want a night out, you don’t have to go too far. There are also some convenience stores around, as well as restaurants, and shops. Overall 5* - Overall, a wonderful hotel in a great location. Recommend.

Hostal Barcelona Centro is AMAZING! This is NOT a traditional Hostal environment but more a boutique-type hotel for a few very fortunate guests. Clean - everything appeared new! The front desk staff was helpful, available and friendly. The hostal is centrally located and a short walk from the main bus station (the airport bus is VERY do-able)...We felt safe and it was a great location to start our vacation.
