Erstklassig renoviertes historisches Haus in zentraler Lage, trotzdem ruhig. Zimmer modern eingerichtet, sehr gepflegt. Schöne Dachterrasse.

Eccellente hotelPosted Nov 24, 2015

Excellent Hotel - Central LocationPosted Nov 8, 2015
Pros: Centrally located. Staff friendly and helpful. Room very clean. Hotel facilities excellent with spa, swimming pool, roof terrace. Great food!
Cons: Our room overlooked side street off La Rambla. Balcony door was double glazed but still heard the street noise Could be annoying in high season.
Location: Hotel located on La Rambla a central street in Barcelona filled with pavement cafes and souvenir kiosks. Easy access to shops, restaurants, marina.
Barcelona is a beautiful city full of colour and wonder. From the fantastic Gaudi architecture to the beautiful Port Vell waterfront harbour there is something for everyone and on all budgets. The locals are friendly and our visit in November was rewarded with glorious sunshine. A great variety of eating establishments to suit all budgets. Booking beforehand to get into some of the tourist attractions is recommended e.g La Sagrada Familia otherwise you can queue for hours for tickets. The hop-on, hop-off buses give you great opportunity to see the city and deciding what to get off and see as you travel the routes offered. In the evenings the buildings, fountains etc. are lit up and very striking and we felt safe walking along La Rambla.

Stilvolles Hotel in zentraler LagePosted Nov 4, 2015

Lovely classy and beautifully decorated hotelPosted Nov 2, 2015
Pros: Everything! Especially the beds and the rooftop terrace.
Cons: Need to ensure that tea, coffee, milk are automatically topped up. Twice we had to ask for resupply, although it happened immediately.
Location: Prime position on La Ramblas. At the centre of shopping, entertainment and easily connected to the airport etc
Great location on la Ramblas and a beautiful hotel with the service that you would expect from a 5 star hotel in one of Europe's great cities. Sumptuous beds, lovely spa and an amazing rooftop bar and pool with views over the city. We will always try to book here first when we visit Barcelona in future.

In the heart of the cityPosted Nov 1, 2015
City experiences are about walking. 1898 puts you at the centre of things. The Metro or short cab rides do the rest. 1898 staff are there to help. The rooms are elegant. And quiet even though 1898 is on La Rambla. We usually rent an apartment but decided to "go back" to a hotel for this one week trip. We were very satisfied with everything.

Posted Oct 31, 2015

Lovely hotelPosted Oct 29, 2015
Pros: Everything except the credit card practice.
Cons: Swiping the credit card like every other buisness
Location: Fabulous location everything we wanted to do within easy walking distance. We sat people warching while having lunch on Las Ramblas.
Not very happy with hotel practice of photocopying credit card, not even done at the front desk but through the back office area, rather than swiping it when you check in! Their explanation was that if we left without paying the bill they could get their money, as they can if they swipe the card, which is normal practice in every hotel we have stayed in all over the world. That is why even though everything was fabulous with the hotel we would not use their 'chain' again. It puts the customer at risk in our opinion and we are advised by our Banks not to let the card out of your sight!.
