Great Location, but noisy

The hotel itself is lovely. Rooms whilst not on the big side, were well fitted out and the bathroom of a high standard. Upon arrival we noticed that the rooftop pool was closed for maintenance which wasn't a problem as it was mid February. The noise from the "maintenance" however was a problem. Our first room was directly below the pool and all we heard up until 7pm was continual drilling, banging etc. We requested a room change and moved rooms to the following day to level 1. Whilst being some 4 floors below, we could still hear the maintenance work, although it was considerably quieter. The only issue we had then was the noise coming from a shouting child from the adjoining room (with connecting doors) during the late evening. That aside, it didn't prevent us from sleeping. Ignoring the noise issues, the hotel is very good and is ideally located for city breakers. Handy cafe/chocolate shop next door (coffee and croissant for 2 euros. The bar/restaurant around the corner "Bosco" whilst being quite dark inside, is also worth a visit. Menu of the day (12 euros) was fantastic !
All in all an enjoyable first visit to Barcelona, me and my partner both agreed we will visit again, but will more than likely choose a different hotel in the same vicinity,
