The hotel was very clean, great location and staff were nice. However the day we checked out, my credit card was charged 15 euros, when I queried this, it turned out housekeeping claimed we had three cans of coke. I immediately refuted this as we had not touched the minibar nor the snacks, I was appalled that house keeping were untruthful about it. The amount was refunded but I don’t think I could stay here again because of this lie, which is such a shame as the hotel is clean and in a great location. The breakfast buffet was good, the boiled egg and scrambled egg however were not very warm, I would recommended they increase their hot veggie options.

Overall, the hotel was not great. Our room's shower head had black mould on it that over a 1 week stay we couldn't successfully have cleaned after multiple requests, our bathroom had no ventilation and the light didn't work, and overall the room was as a result not very comfortable. On top of which, one morning a man who worked at the hotel just before 10am scanned a card and walked RIGHT IN to our room while we were in bed sleeping still with the lights out. Once he realized we were in there, he left promptly. Afterwards we contacted the front desk and they had mistakenly thought we checked out they said and so he didn't know we would be in there - this was 2 days before our scheduled check out. Absolutely ridiculous. Someone did offer us a free breakfast for all of our issues which was a nice gesture, but nonetheless, I would NOT recommend this hotel.

The building is welcoming and in a central area so that you are close to tourist attractions like Gothic area, beach, Sagrada Familia, high end shopping and Ramblas. We had a mid grade room and I’m glad we did. Standard rooms looked small. The mid size is perfect: king size bed, good sheets and towels, roomy bathroom, small balcony. The breakfast is very good with variety and freshness. The breakfast room is beautifully decorated. It would be nice if breakfast were available on the rooftop bar. All staff is friendly, willing to help and have several languages. We stayed for 5 nights and we did not have a bad experience on any level. The only downside is that it is close to the university so evening can sometimes get noisy especially on weekends, so open windows are not often an option. The room has AC so not a big deal.

You cannot get a better location with friendlier staff. Right in the heart of Barcelona with good metro links this was a little gem. The roof terrace topped it off!
