We loved this hotel. Was a bit far out centre of Barcelona but we don’t mind that. We loved the wee local restaurants and bar rooms about and the proximity to the beach, its bars and restaurants too. Public transport was On the door step too and taxi rank outside . Would recommend and stay here again

Ok hotel, could be a bit cleaner and better maintained for 4*. Very helpful staff, outside pool is not as big as pictures lead you to believe. Close to sea front and town, both short walk away.

Nice hotel but stay spoilt by noise
The staff were friendly and in many ways the hotel ticks quite a few boxes. The issue however for us was that the room next door were having a party and we didn't get to sleep much. We tried to raise it using the phone which noone picked up (the staff later told us they had been too busy to pick up). We went down to let them know about the noise, and the lady at the counter did go and talk to the guests in the room next door. It however sadly didn't make much of a difference as the party went on, hence the two stars. Insulation seems to be an issue as you can also hear the traffic and doors being closed and open. All in all, the hotel looks good but it suffers from being a bit too ambitious. It would have benefited from more staff and better insulation.

Hotel is fine. It is a bit dated and could really benefit from a renovation but it is clean and the beds are comfortable. The front desk folks are helpful. Breakfast is good, if you do not want to go out to breakfast, it is worth paying for. (fresh fruit, cured meats and cheese, breads, eggs, etc.) The Usual. This hotel is probably a great place to stay in the summer, it's a 5 minute walk to the beach. In December, it feels a little detatched but not so bad. It is located right on the edge of El Poblenou which is a great neighborhood. Very cool neighborhood. Otherwise, it's a 10/15 minute taxi ride to the center of the city. Also, it feels very safe around there. I walked everywhere with my wife and 9 yr old without any hesitation.

I had 4 night at SB hotel and it was really nice my staying there. The rooms very clean and size was perfect for two. The restaurant was awesome and the staff was very helpful and friendly.

Great facilities, pool, sauna and steam room. Some things didn't quite work, like jacuzzi, bath plug and a room switch. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet was brilliant.

Barcelona Birthday
We spent 4 nights at H SB I in Barcelona, where I was in town to celebrate my 70th birthday. I believe I let them know ahead of time of that occasion taking place. At check-in, I was informed that they didn't have the room available that I had booked and upgraded us to a more spacious room, like a mini-suite, that included a jacuzzi tub along one wall in the room. Loved that! On my birthday, Sept.9th, the hotel surprised us and sent to our room a bottle of Cava on ice in a champagne bucket with two flutes. Very generous, and kudos to them for making for a memorable birthday stay. All the desk staff at reception were friendly and willing to help in any way. Veronica was especially patient and helpful with assisting me with making arrangements for transportation to and from Andorra, our next stop, among other things. She deserves recognition. The breakfast buffet was excellent, covering all the bases. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Staff were helpful - we arrived early and managed to check in anyway and we were able to store our luggage and use the shower after check out. Great area - so close to everything but felt set back and more relaxed. Didn't eat in the hotel but some great places nearby. Hotel was nice just in some places looks like it could do with an update, but overall we had a great stay and would happily return

Staff at the front desk and restaurant were nice. But the room wasn’t being cleaned properly. We set a few traps around the room to see exactly how the cleaners worked. Cleaning service was really bad.

I stayed in a junior suite, the pink couch of which was in fact mostly brown/grey from all the dirt from previous customers. The staff were friendly and upgraded me to another suite with a jacuzzi, which was clean but the window was broken and didn’t shut properly, the curtains were too small for the windows so didn’t fully close. The suites were meant to be the latest refurbished rooms. Since I was only there for 3 nights and had initially arrived in the middle of the night, I was too tired to move again. I wouldn’t stay here again

An American couples review - this property is 10/10. Absolutely gorgeous place with very nice staff. Top to bottom met and exceeded expectations. The beach is less than a 5 minute walk and the location is very safe and secure. I would go very out of my way to stay here again.

Had baby cockroaches in my room on the ceiling. Killed at least 3. Bed has really thin sheets for blankets. Asked for a blanket and the maintenance guy who came showed me the sheet already on my bed, and was not happy. Brought a gross looking blanket with holes in it when asked for something thicker. The flooring was coming up and had a lot of water damage. The latch for the window was broken and the walls are paper thin. So with this and construction nearby you could not sleep. The shower has a half wall, so water runs down it and out onto the floor because it was installed horribly. probably the cause of some of the water damage. TV is super small. maybe 30 inches. Room is basic brown and white. pretty ugly room. Slept pretty hot, could not get AC cold enough.

UNACCEPTABLE FOOD & AVAILABILITY
The hotel was very nice. Very lacking in service available. There was NO overnight coffee station. NO COFFEE AVAILABLE TILL 7:30AM!!! This is very very bad. There were dozens of people looking for coffee from 5:30am forward that were also disappointed. Also, the dining room is terribly UNDERSTAFED!!! When we were seated, no water was offered, no bread was offered. We had to ask for both!!! I requested a bottle of wine (the 1st on their list) ...they had none. I had to purchase a much more costly one on my dime. The food was also terrible. Much over cooked and not fit to eat. Mind, the food pricies were a fine dining level and the quality was a greasy spoon. Some of the meal was taken off our charge however, someone should have been there to get us something fit to eat for my family from what they had to offer. We went to bed discusted and hungry. I might add, the staff did their best with what very little they had to work with. Again, extreemly UNDERSTAFFED!!! SB Hotels must get this message.

This was such an excellent choice, I loved this hotel. Everyone in the staff was super nice and kind. The rooms were clean and the lady came to do my room everyday which was really nice. The breakfast is a buffet style they served scramble eggs, bacon, batatas, beans, sausages, pastries, fruits, bread, cereal, juices, milk, coffee machine which has multiple options including hot chocolate, toaster to toast bread slices, cheeses, ham/turkey, and yogurts. Honestly the breakfast was really good I loved all the different options. The pool was nice too, I love the sitting areas that the hotel offers. I’ll definitely be back when I go back to Barcelona,

Great position for the beach and easy walk to the gothic quarter. Nice terrace area for the afternoons but the pool was freezing…

Good base for exploring
We had a lovely stay here. It's a good location, breakfast was nice and it was a good base to explore the city. shame the jacuzzi wasn't working. Decent staff and a nice check in.
