nice hotel, excellent location at Ramblas

Pros: staff are very friendly and location
Cons: value for money could be better
hotel staff are very friendly, location is at Ramblas and accessible to major attractions. airport bus is five minutes walk and metro is within three minutes walking

In the middle of everything!

Pros: The staff: courteous and accommodating. the location: the location was perfect! Steps away from popular restaurants, the metro, and surrounding attr
Cons: Some of the the amenities could use a little work. The gym was super tiny and so was the pool. Doesn't need to be Equinox but some more then a treadmi
Location: The location is perfect. Just about everything is within walking distance. La Ramblas, food, metro, attractions, nightlife...all of it is right there.
Overall, the experience was nice. Hotel and the room was clean which is very important to me.

Location wise it was great but the walls are thin

Great location off La Ramblas but the walls are paper thin and you could hear EVERYTHING in rooms next door and also above. You could hear conversations, water flowing in the shower and basin, toilet flushing and doors that slam. No heating in April though it was cooler in the evenings and quite dated rooms and bathroom. Staff were all great and couldn't do enough. Unfortunately I wouldn't stay there again. So many hotels in the location.

The photo on the web was very different from the ones online. It was old, the phone in the room didn't work and the overall experience just wasn't that great.

Silken Ramblas- Barclona

Pros: Its location. The cleaning staff and the restaurant staff. Good people - working hard.
Cons: Staff training. Reception and management. Service is all in the hotel industry.
Location: Where do I start? Everything! It's the greatest weekend city for the young, the old and families! I LOVE Barcelona for work and for family.
Upon arrival my family including two children under ten were not properly welcomed. All ver haphazard and uninterested. We took our room keys and went to our poorly lit but more surprisingly dirty room. The room had not been cleaned and all the remnants of the previous occupier were still there. It looked like the previous occupier had had quite a party! My wife went to complain while i got more annoyed. After ten years of business travel this is the first time I have ever been so badly let down. A cleaner arrived and asked if we would wait while they cleaned the room? No! I took the issue to the reception desk. My wife had been given a another room. There was no bed made up for the kids, but staff did come to do this but decided against leaving them any pillows!! The sofa bed was horribly uncomfortable, and the stay as a result far less than it should have been. The location of the hotel is great, but with relative little investment on infrastructure and considerable investment on staff training, this could be a great hotel. I would challenge the Silken group to put this situation right with me. I be they don't! This is the first time I have ever had cause to complain on line like this.

Great location

Pros: Central location and easy to get to from the airport on the Autobus.
The hotel is in a very good location....close to underground and lots to do/see within walking distance. Plenty of bars and restaurants. One down side, we had a room which had an interconnecting door to another room. Unfortunately we had very noisy neighbours on the last night which keep us awake till 3am........and then some! I guess that's the luck of the draw, otherwise it was excellent.
