4 of us had a fabulous stay at this beautiful hotel. The setting and gardens were amazing. The staff were very welcoming and I phoned in advance to request the Jane Room as it was my sisters birthday who’s name is Jane and the lady I spoke to was very accommodating. (I had read a previous review where a guest had stayed in this suite) My sister said it was a lovely room and a thoughtful touch. Our room was lovely, but a bit dated and tired in places, as was the rest of the hotel, but this didn’t detract from the wonderful stay we had. We ate in the restaurant in the evening and the food was plentiful and tasty, but nothing special. However, we will definitely return.

Opted for a short notice night away We knew the weather wasn’t going to be great, so we were looking for somewhere with a spa Has to be said, this is a lovely hotel with a fantastic spa Cracking value too The room was far better than I was expecting We will be back

A completely disappointing experience. The entire place is past due for a total renovation, displaying clear signs of tiredness. The rooms are ok, but lack the attention to detail that they should have. The restaurant is atrocious, offering a mediocre selection, setting itself low standards and failing to achieve those. The spa, while functional, is also tired and needing redecoration. Ignore the claim of this being part of a “Premier Collection”: it is an unloved, three-star establishment at best, despite being in an impressive former family seat in lovely surrounds. I regret having booked this stay for should have been a happy celebration of a significant wedding anniversary.

Hotel was ok..room was large but a little tired. The bathroom seemed to have a problem with the plumbing and was a bit smelly . Only view was ove the bins .

Second time here, we returned to have a garden view to enhance our experience. We booked a garden view on expedia arrived and no garden view? this was down to expedia! The staff went above and beyond to alleviate our initial disappointment. We had a great experience, lovely setting and wonderful staff, shame about the view.

Lovely hotel and grounds. First visit and only stayed one night but will be back. Hotel was good value and enjoyed the restaurant and breakfast. Would appreciate lit signage at the hotel entrance (from both directions). We arrived at night, in the rain and a busy road so loads of oncoming car headlights. This made seeing the turn-off difficult. There is a lit sign for the golf club and chalets.

Beautiful hotel, immaculately clean. Helpful and friendly staff. Room was very spacious and comfortable. Spa/Pool area relaxing. Only a couple of minor issues - bathtub plug didn't work properly so water kept draining. Buffet style breakfast -food was a bit overcooked(bacon &fried eggs) Other than that it was a lovely, peaceful hotel to dteybin with lovely surroundings.

Underwhelming
Overall very disappointed, so looking forward to going here but it fell way short of our expectations. Beautiful building that hasn't been made the most of. Complete lack of information, no explanation regarding how breakfast works, where to go in the spa, there is no room service menu in the room, no information on treatments available. Lovely pool but no cleaners in sight, people were leaving bottles around the pool and in the changing room someone had even left an apple core in the lancarium(?) We had room service the first night after googling the bar menu, the pizza was burnt to a crisp but after an hour of waiting we were starving. Went to the bar our second night, unfortunately no vegetarian burger so pizza again, just as blackened as the first night. Our room was in the furtherest wing possible and down 2 flights of stairs but there was no offer of help with any luggage. Our tea and milks weren't refreshed for the second night. Lots of small things that spoiled what should have been a nice break. Will not be back.

Gorgeous historic building which was magical to stay in during Christmastime. The staff in the whole were great, especially the wonderful restaurant staff. The spa had good facilities but is a little tired and could have been a lot cleaner and the changing rooms need refurbishing desperately. Food was great, bed very comfy but again the room whilst clean was a bit tired and could do with some TLC. The building itself is wonderful and I’d stay there again

Beautiful hotel, tired in some places and some rooms in need of refurbishment but this doesn’t distract from the beauty of the building in any way, we had a fantastic two nights stay, all the staff were really friendly, polite and helpful. We only ate breakfast and dessert which were both of good quality ( fruit salad not the best) and plentiful. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend or stay here again if in the area.

Very good but missing attention to some details
Great value and good parkland location just a few mins from stratford. Reception & bar staff were great. Let down a little by lack of detail in room prep - had to ask for soap & some bedding - while sofa bed was missing the cushion base. Bar meals were fine. The atmosphere was relaxing but would have been even better if the lounge & bar areas had real fires.

Weekend break
Room was large with a big bathroom radiators were turned off when we got in the room and it was cold. Damp stains on the ceiling bed was comfortable drinks very expensive breakfast was quite nice but they give you small plates obviously to limit portion sizes and I noticed some of the pastries were not getting put out when the tray was empty, the hotel just looked tired. Swimming pool was a nice size but again cold. Parking can be tricky so try and get there early.

Manor house stay
Lovely old character hotel. Good location on edge of Stratford upon avon and walkable to town through hotel grounds and along the river. Excellent reception, large rooms, good facilities and great breakfast. Room clean, just a bit let down by dirty windows. Pool and spa wonderful. Had a lovely stay and would happily return and recommend.

Everything was superb. Great location with beautiful grounds. The spa was lovely. I do feel the hotel has superb potential to be updated and bought up to current standards. I also felt there was a lack of diversity with the staff. Otherwise really great stay

Exceeded expectations for overnight family stay
The hotel was lovely and the apartment exceeded our expectations. It had plenty of room for our large family and the fully stocked kitchen was unexpected and so welcoming. Swimming pool and spa were lovely too

This hotel is beautiful but that’s where it ends. Understaffed they gave us a room nearly a ten min walk from the lobby with not one person to help. When trying to order food for dinner we were told the room is “too far for service” and that we would have to walking in the rain to the bar in the lobby order there (because they don’t take orders over the phone or on line) and then carry it back in the rain to our room. As if that wasn’t enough the fire alarm sounded off at 1 am, 2:20 am and again at 5:20 am. It was frightening for both the adults and kids and when we realized there was no danger and called the lobby they simply said they knew there was an issue with the alarm and they were sorry. The hotel is a half hour walk from anything and they have no shuttle service. Do not go to this hotel!!!
