25 COP ($6 USD) for taxi from BAQ to hotel. Cabbies vary, but you can haggle. Hotel Staff was great. Karen and Gabriella, in the dining room are excellent, always attentive and genial. Pool closed for maintenance on Mondays, closes daily at 7:50.PM; most inconvenient. Steam room and dry sauna were out of order. Room was without hot water for 2 days. I told the front desk, the 3rd morning and they turned it on, before 10AM. Bathroom was spacious, shower was large and very good water pressure. Toilet takes work to flush, regardless of contents; very low pressure. Only two towels, no face or hand cloths. Soap and shampoo provided. In room fridge works well, after you plug it in. No currency exchange, in hotel. Need to walk out, take a right and if the one a few doors down is closed, walk another few blocks and there are several, on the opposite corner. Free Breakfast varies by day and was very good. Hamburgers are very good. Dinner was excellent! Had some shrimp in a sauce combo. Beer and scotch at very good prices! Yes, I would return here.

Book if you want to be HOMELESS FOR DAY OR MORE!
They did not honor hour guaranteed reservation and tried charging our card for the whole amount instead of pay at hotel. Then when we arrived 1 hour before checkin they already gave out room. No apologies, no help finding an alternative. I WAS HOMELESS IN A FOREIGN COUNTRY!

Awsome stay
Great Hotel!! The suites are huge and very affordable. Great area with supermarkets nearby , 7 minute walk to the Stadium where alot of major performances go on. I would definitely stay again.

This hotel I believe was a Wyndham hotel. I can’t believe Wyndham would allow their name to be on this hotel. My experience with Wyndham has always been that of classy elegant hotels. This hotel was run down outdated with poor equipment and unkept

The staff was friendly but if my wife didn’t speak Spanish the check in and check out would have been a lot more difficult. I am most grateful for the special request of flowers and wine that the staff had waiting in the room. On a side note, the AC in our first room did not work properly and as a result we were moved to a different location. All in all, the stay was comfortable but didn’t make a lasting impression.

Had to change room 2 times AC not working. Same happened to the family members that had 2 other rooms. Our room had termites and spiders. Hot water was so hot i burned myself. Next day did not make it to breakfast on time so paid a la cart and the 7 of us were given bread that was old and green. For sure we will mever stay there again. The city has nicer hotels. We only stayed there because went to a wedding in their ballroom the night we were there.

I like the location, the personnel took us even when they did not find the reservation but I a not sure why they did no have it if I had my Expedia confirmation #. They worked around it and put us in a room anyway. I think the place is good but probably need a little bit more maintenance. I did not stay too long in there since it was a quick trip

I got sick for some unknown reason and the manager had a dr come to my room to check on my and my friend's daughter conditions. The dr not only gave us what to buy at the pharmacy, she also told us what to eat and drick for a few days. We both got better to continue our second part of the trip. Also very proactive to fix things in the room.

I found very strict rules that requires showing documents for all the people staying at the hotel even children at registration. I do not want a hotel making copies of my passports due to data privacy concerns. I have a stronger saying for information on my children, I find that unnecessary and too much. It took a lot of time at registration due to extra paperwork.

I would only recommend it if low budget. The price is great for what you get. Localizado con haceso a todo.lo malo son las camas y los cuartos sin ventanas. El desyuno is ok. the staff helpful depending who's on shift.

super hotel!
love how spacious and comfortable the rooms are....nice pool, great breakfast. The only bummer is the absolute ridiculous amount of time it takes to check in. I understand about gov't paper work, but it is REALLY awful at this hotel. They've GOT to change how they handle all of that.

I stayed at a hotel with a friend for 4 nights over the carnival period. The hotel staff said they could not provide 2 room keys, we were given 2 different reasons by 2 different staff. 1 said that they just can't and also they didn't have enough, the 2nd said that if they gave a second key then the other one would deactivate. The rooms were nice and cosy, however we did have an issue soon as we got there - there was no hot water so they managed to move us to another room. The water issue happened again but this was rectified. The lift broke everyday in my stay, they managed to fix them but in their own time I liked the location of the hotel, the staff were friendly but just very slow. The food by the pool is very nice

3rd visit at this Hotel i return for the value , the service and the Pool open late till 21:30 . I only have 2 complaints one of the towers has no hot water . I did 2 different stays 3-4 days on this trip the food in August was delicious . On this trip breakfasts were good but had 1 meal lomito cerdo bone dry and another meal at pool punta de Anca i had to really fight to cut to edible pieces . I will avoid meals on my next visit but will return

Nice Hotel in Barranquilla
Waw! nice Hotel and since we arrived on February 8 till the 14, 2018 the hotel staff are very friendly the front desk clerks. restaurant waitress, housekeeping and the bell boys are the best in best service to the clients my family and I very happy will be back for sure to the Howard Johnson .

A nice stay in Barranquilla
I was in Barranquilla for a long weekend. The hotel was very nice and cozy. I am a non spanks speaker but the staff was very accomodating.

The room was larger than I expected, excellent amenities, super restaurant, but above and beyond were the excellent people. The service was provided with friendliness and attention to care. I was impressed and enjoyed my stay very much.

Hotel dirty and the staff was impolite.
The hotel room had dirty sheets and the beds were old and uncomfortable, and the staff was impolite. The worst part of my trip to Colombia was when I was forced to undergo a full-body X-Ray with no protection for my vital organs upon leaving the country, and that if I refused the government would place me in prison indefinitely until I complied. This was the worst experience I have ever had in any country in the world. Travelers beware. If you travel to Colombia, you WILL be forced to undergo a full body X-Ray with no protection for the vital organs, upon leaving.

Great, very reasonable hotel....a terrific stay!

Absolutely amazing!!!
I've been on lot of vacations and stayed in many hotels but this hotel was probably one of my favorites! The staff was so accommodating and were always very helpful when we had questions. The room was very beautiful and spacious. I will definitely be staying here again on my next trip to Barranquilla!!!!!

This hotel is located in the heart of the city is surronded by all sort of stores and supermarkets. The rooms are from medium to large size and some of them come with a terrace. Breakfast is icluded, which consist of scramble eggs fresh fruit small bread coffee or tea. There is never a shortage of cabs that will take you to any part of town. Lots of air conditioning, small gym and a pool. I really enjoyed my stay at Howard Johnson Versalles Hotel.

You never know what your're going to get
We arrived from our bus late at night and the hotel didn't have a record of our reservation (I am an expat living in Colombia and travel to Barranquilla frequently and am very familiar with the standards of service in Colombia). I showed the front desk clerk my confirmation and he insisted I email it to him or he couldn't do anything about it even though they did have vacancies. I asked to add a second adult to the room and he said he could not because that is not what the reservation from hotels.com said. He kept insisting to see my passport even though I have a cedula. He was rude and unaccommodating and spoke no English. I booked a suit. When we got to the room there was a king sized bed, and no other furnishings other than the t.v. The picture with my reservation showed a two room suite with a bar and furnishings in one room and the bed in another. There was a large Jacuzzi tub in the bathroom, but the jets didn't work. The common areas of the hotel are well kept including the pool area. Breakfast is not free it's a part of your booking fee. You are not allowed to enter with food or beverages from outside the hotel so you have to buy from the minibar because there is actually only one restaurant and it is open at meal times only. I wouldn't recommend tourists go walking around at night, take a cab to a restaurant and a cab back. Know that there is not a "make it right" attitude here if you don't get what you expected.

I would have given higher rating except the front desk staff were very un- informed. No one seemed to know much about their city or events. We were there for Carnaval and never straight answers. Nobody could direct us properly - even though my wife's first language was Spanish and I am more than conversant in the language. Everyone was nice just not informative.
