Loved the Nespresso maker in the room plus an incredible gym with bag and rack to lift and sauna. Very chic hotel in Basel in a great area of the city. Breakfast was nice but service could be improved as items needed to be replaced and there weren’t many options. Comfortable bed and overall great vibe.

Only give one towel in room for 2 people . We had to ask for an extra towel. Pillows were gross . No pillow protector under pillow case . Location is good to old town. Pictures online look nicer than what it is actually. Glass wall to bathroom - no privacy . There is a shear curtain you can pull. However it is see through.

The hotel is fairly close to both the main railway station (there’s a bus stop outside) and a tram stop a block away has a line that runs to the city centre. Very friendly and helpful staff, an immaculately clean room with a genuine double bed (rather than two single mattresses on one base), air conditioning and good sound insulation make for a pleasant stay. Breakfast was expensive at 24 CHF (but okay at 17 CHF if booked later as an offer) with a good selection of options. A Nespresso machine in the room is a nice touch (although I kept on having to ask for cream and there’s no option for tea). Gripes: The rooms have a very minimalist design –there’s no room for clutter. This means that there is nowhere, other than your freshly-made bed, to unpack your dusty suitcase/bag. There is a thin desk with a very business-like, upright, chair, but nowhere else in the room just to sit and relax. Okay for an over-night business stay, but not if you are holidaying for a week. The bathroom design was novel: there was a glass wall between the shower/toilet and the bedroom area in my room, with a voile (net) curtain that pulled across to give some degree of privacy (dependent on the lighting!) – okay if you are a sole occupier but perhaps not so otherwise? Would I stay again? Sadly, probably not – the lack of somewhere comfortable to sit in the evening (rather than lay on the bed) would put me off, which is a pity – but could perhaps be easily rectified?
