This was an outstanding experience. Every staff person was kind and thoughtful. The food was delicious. Loved having room service. The transportation to the airport was quick and free. They kept calling to keep track of us when our luggage held us up. Every person helped us. The check out staff person gave us handfuls of cookies in sympathy for our missing luggage! You definitely want to stay at this place!

I arrived a day late due to my flight being cancelled by British Airways from Heathrow to Basel and the Hotel were very accommodating. It was very hot and my aircon did not work in my room I was assigned and the staff were very helpful to try and get it working and eventually moved me to another room with aircon. Food was great at the restaurant and the staff all round were very friendly.

Dear William, thank you so much for taking time to write a review on expedia. We are really sorry that the room was too warm for you. Unfortuantely since 2006 Switzerland introduced a new environmental Law which prohibits the installation of the A/C (as you and me know in our house or in our car etc), in new constructed commercial Buildings, based on the total sqm of the Building. The Airport Hotel Basel unfortunately fell (we started the construction end of 2006) within this Law. This means we do not have the typical Air Condition as you and I know. What we have, and based on the above-mentioned Law is following. We cool down water to 8 degrees Celsius, which cools down air and contribute this in all private (rooms) and commercial areas (Lobby etc) of the hotel. This is environmentally friendly and together with the underground district heating and electricity (in Steam form) we get from the nearby recycling unit, makes the Airport Hotel Basel the only hotel in Basel with a certified Zero CO2 emissions Hotel. Perfect airport hotel minus the pillows!
Staff very attentive and kind and there to help guests. Hotel very clean and comfortable and has a restaurant, bar and casino. Rooms very comfortable except the pillows which were like paper. Apart from that all good

Phenomenal property, incredible stay. Our best in Europe. We were expecting far less from a hotel near an airport. The rooms and bathrooms were very clean and comfortable. Just a couple minutes. Drive from the airport. Free shuttle. We highly recommend!

If you have an early flight, this is a great and inexpensive way to be close to the airport. They are happy to drop you off, but the #50 bus stops every 10-15 minutes across the street and with the Basel Card (which is free) the bus is free.

The front desk staff was absolutely the RUDEST I have ever encountered. This girl (she said her name was Lena but I really doubt it) was literally yelling at my mom and refused to speak to me over the phone, all because THEY scheduled the shuttle for yesterday (her check out was today so I guess it made sense in their heads). Never coming back again.

Convenient for airport travelers
Great convenient stay right near the airport. The bus to the airport is immediately across the street and starts operating at 4:20am if you have an early flight, otherwise they have an airport shuttle starting around 6 as well. Great comfortable rooms, quiet, and an easy public transit to the city

We wanted to stay near the airport for an early flight out. This hotel was clean, comfortable, and on the bus line to the airport. We also took the bus into center city for dinner, since there is not much around the airport. The bus is very convenient.

Surprisingly good
Arrived very late to very helpful reception. Everything spotlessly clean. Lovely big breakfast buffet with nice smiley man working in the room seemingly alone but nothing was too much trouble. Thankyou. Would highly recommend this hotel

Even though it looks like it should be hired by the hour it’s actually a great hotel. Service is outstanding, food is very good, it’s conveniently located for travellers. For an airport hotel it’s better than most.
