Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. They advised on how to travel around the city and how to get the most out of our stay in Basel. Always attentive and asked each time we returned to the hotel how our day was. Good continental breakfast provided.

The air condition is Usually turned off in the evening even though the room can be 80° The outside temperature is cooled down in the evening but there's no screen on the window. A few mosquitos can fly in if you open the window. Most stuff are very nice, but you may meet one, who may be difficult to deal, my wife had to go to the front desk multiple times to get a roll of toilet paper

Pros: Location, price / service relationship, quite stylish facility and furniture
Cons: Parking fee is very expensive
Location: Basel Fair, visit Rhine river and city center, very connected to public transport (free ticket for 24 hours)
Very good price / service relation, central location, rooms have clear lines, modern furniture, good continental breakfast included. Parking available but quite expensive with 25 CHF per night

Pros: More space
Cons: staff's attitude - No one said sorry or try and make us comfortable.
Location: central location, can walk or tram everywhere
Our apartment was not in the same building, have to walk through the street after check in. never been informed the central heating was not working. When complained about central heating, was told I will be provided with more blankets - it was snowing and freezing temperature.

Pros: Value for money, location, friendly staff, cleanliness.
Cons: Better sound insulation between rooms. Wifi that doesn't keep prompting for a login.
Location: The hotel is adjacent to Basel's main exhibition centre. It is about 20 minutes' walk to Marktplatz in the centre of the old town.
The room was compact but well laid-out, and very clean. The hotel is on Riehensring, which is a fairly busy road and tram route. My room was at the front of the building; there was a fair amount of traffic and tram noise. I'm not so bothered by this, but I know others prefer a quieter setting, so it's something to be aware of. Also, the soundproofing between rooms isn't so great. The staff were friendly and very helpful, and spoke multiple languages. Breakfast was good. For the price I paid, with breakfast included, this hotel offered brilliant value for money.

Basic hotel, middle of town

Pros: Staff were lovely, both reception and breakfast
Cons: Room needs a bit of soundproofing and a little bit more comfort. Found the hotel parking pretty pricey to be honest.
Location: You're a 10 minute walk to the centre of Basel, so its pretty in the middle of it all
Arrived late, but checked in quickly, assisted to park in the underground car elevator and was in room in no time... From then on, it all became average with noise from the loo down pipe, trams rattling past and a pretty basic room to start with.

Small rooms but adequate

Pros: Mobility ticket to free trams and buses.
Cons: I do wish that smokers could be removed from doors and windows.
Location: Short walk to trams and to the Rhine River. Trams to Marktplatz, Exhibition Square, airport, Riehen Grenz, and both train stations.
Although the rooms are small and sparse, they are adequate. I would have preferred smokers to stay further from doors, as their smoke wafted in to all common areas from outside doors. Windows also, if room was on the front street, could let in a lot of smoke as well as noise. The breakfasts were phenomenal, and served on china and silver, with the personal touch of your coffee being brought to you on order. I have never been more pleased with hotel breakfast. Staff was incredibly helpful and conversant in languages of my choice.

Conveniently placed.

Cons: I wish the bathroom had an electric extractor rather than just a vent - the window can also be opened.
I stayed in this Hotel in 2010 and I've just been back. For me it's conveniently placed and as I'm essentially visiting friends in Basel rather than staying with them the Hotel serves my needs. My single room was quite spacious - modern decor and polished wooden floors. All very clean and comfy. It's worth remembering that the Hotel gives its guests a mobility ticket free of charge for travels on trains busses and tram within the area and zones 10,11 and 15. My friends are in zone 30 so I used a 7 day pass which was still good value at 40.40 swiss francs since a return trip to zone 30 would cost 18 francs. From the main station (SBB) Tram 2 gets you to the Hotel (get off at Messeplatz) so getting about Basel and to and from the Hotel is really very easy. Breakfast is the usual continental fare (with a swiss flavour obviously, which I particularly love) - not over abundant but adequate. It's an intimate but unflashy place.
