This is a decent hotel very near Basel SBB station. During our stay it was undergoing refurbishment with decorators in corridors and rooms etc. This did not cause a disturbance in the night but things were a bit chaotic, for instance the second day our room was not cleaned although this was quickly and courteously sorted out upon request. Also our request for a quiet top floor room was not possible. Although the hotel looks over a noisy road and tram line (and behind them a park) the quadruple glazing is quite effective with only minimal rumbling from buses and trams. The room mini-bar was not cooling. The free wi-fi worked well. The TV is good with a selection of British channels. The staff were very helpful and the breakfast is good. Good value.

First of all we thank you very much that you were our guests and appreciate your Feedback. It is a pleasure to know, that our breakfast has given you a good start in to the new and of course, we have forwarded your compliments as well to our staff.
As mentioned and described on the website, our triple rooms are located on the 1st and 2nd and 3rd floor. As we informed you in adavance the triple rooms (style category) are not on the top floors of the hotel but we are always there for you to help you out with any arrangements, e.g. with two rooms side-by-side on the higher floors in the higher room category.
It is correct that our refurbishment of the room categories Comfort and First has been made floor-by-floor in order to not disturb the guests.
We apologize for any inconvenience you had with the room cleaning and that your room hasn't been made up at your return around noon-time. It goes without saying that we clean the rooms for our non departing or arriving guests any time earlier, when guests are informing us about the wish to have a rest from around noon or in the early afternoon.
The Minibars are constructed to cool drinks which are inside. If ever our guests need a fridge to cool groceries etc, we are happy to help them out with this matter in a fridge for internal use.
What left to say that it would be great to welcome you back for a next occassion and that we wish you all the best unitl then.
