expensive but worth it

Fabulous pool and bar area on the roof with great views over Biarritz. A 15 min uphill scenic walk back from town and beach but great to come back after a long hot day to swim in the pool. Restaurant on the roof looks good and not too expensive but didn't try it as prefer the buz of the in town bars.

Hotel mal insonorisé. Quartier bruyant.

Pros: Terrasse du bar
Cons: Insonorisation, salle de sport, mobilier des chambres. Savon insuffisant et absence de serviette pour une personne
Location: A proximité du centre ville et des plages
Hotel mal insonorisé, bruits extérieurs toute la nuit. Salle de sport : deux appareils seulement de mauvaise qualité. Pensez à réserver le parking sinon pas de place à l'hôtel. Terrasse panoramique très agréable

Friendly but overpriced

Great location and friendly staff. However, this hotel was very overpriced, cost about three times more than it should considering the standard of the room. The same goes for the breakfast. Would not come back.

Comfortable hotel in interesting resort

Pros: Quiet location, with bars nearby; not too far from town centre, provided you are mobile with no walking difficulties. Spacious bedroom.
Cons: Extra supplies of coffee and milk sachets to those provided in the room. A wider choice of cocktails and more congenial bar service.
Location: Close to old port which has lots of bars and restaurants. Not as close to the beach as the map suggests as there is a steep climb to the beach.
Stayed for a week in June on a room only basis.The hotel is only 15 minutes by taxi from the airport and a walk of 5 minutes down the hill to the old port area which has lots of bars and restaurants. Pleasantly surprised by the elegant buildings, mix of French and Spanish culture and food in Biarritz. Most waiters are able to speak a little English. Lots of interesting places to walk and wonderful sea views. Quiet at the start of the week, but the second half coincided with the annual "Waves and Wheels" festival (surfing and biking) with noisy motorbikes roaring around the old port area and bikers congregating at specific bars. The bikers caused no trouble but they detracted from the ambience of the town. The Tourist Office provides information about the local bus service to places like Bayonne, a mediaeval walled town which is good for a half day visit, but there were no organised trips available in early June e.g. to La Rhune.
