The hotel is tired and lacks facilities

The owners were nice but the Challet has seen better days

Dear anonymous, We appreciate your comment but have to state that we are not a Hotel or Motel, but a traditional European Country Guesthouse and as such we did not furnish in Chrome and Glass. Most of our guests appreciate our timber furnishings and folk art paintings. Most guests love the views from the balconies and ocean view verandah. Nearly everyone loves our heated indoor pool/hot spa, play tennis, table tennis and archery and the bush & rainforest walks. We have been accused of not having a bar and casino - but, alas - we do not want to have those on our tranquil property. Kind regards, Herbert.

Beautiful Location

Posted Nov 22, 2016
We were unable to stay as long as we would have liked. The location is stunning, and the buildings are evocative and well worth investigating. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The views, bushwalking, swimming pool and spa made this an unexpected oasis of calm. We will be back.

Enjoy

Posted Nov 15, 2016 on Wotif
Pros: Coffee on the deck enjoying the sun and view. The walks
Cons: They did provide breakfast but If they provided a full restaurant service, that would be good.
The staff were very friendly. The rooms have the 'Chalet Swisse' style. It does have an aged style, so enjoy it for that. The surrounding bush land provides a great walk with plenty of wild life. The view of the ocean if great. Enjoy

Dear Guest, Thank you for your nice review. We are glad you enjoyed our property and hope to see you again soon. Because the breakfast is complimentary we provide a continental buffet breakfast, but as you would find in our compendium, we can offer you a hot breakfast at an extra small cost. Please try it next time. Kind regards, Herbert.

Peaceful and friendly

Posted Oct 29, 2016 on Wotif
Location: 10 minutes to Mogo Zoo and 15 to Mogo Town.
Such a pretty setting with gorgeous coastal views. Original owners for 27 years Herbert and Elizabeth make you feel welcome from the minute you meet them. Had fun with archery on site.

Not Swiss, but a Squeeze not worth !!

Posted Sep 29, 2016 on Hotels
This was a stay worth forgetting, wish never decided the stopover in this ridiculous place, with hosts hard bent upon squeezing every cent out of you, for anything they can claim a reason on. It was eerie in this place, though we were the only guests staying, completely empty otherwise, the hostess found the little cramped up and the worst room at the back of the property, with all other rooms empty!!!. Not worth half the money you pay for. The only good thing about the place is the surrounding landscape, if one is interested in nature outlook. The breakfast was a joke, with a time limit of 30 minutes from 8.30 for serving the cold breakfast of juice, bread and cereal. Beware if you check in late, there is an additional $50 charged over the ridiculous room rate !! It is not Swiss, it's a Squeeze !!

Hello Anonymous, From the context of your review I can see that you booked a small Standard room at about $ 90 per night including a buffet breakfast and use of all resort facilities - the heated indoor pool & spa, full size tennis court, table tennis, archery, bush walks on our 82 acres and more. The Day Spa pamper treatments were available. I am sorry that you felt the room was too small for you. I am sorry that you thought the buffet breakfast was not sufficient and I am especially sorry that you obviously did not read the description of our property, rooms, services and facilities. P.S. That you were the only guests is very unusual. Regards, Herbert

Chalet rather than hotel

Posted Sep 6, 2016 on Hotels
We stayed over the weekend and we arrived around 11pm. I was not aware that there was a fee ($50) for late check in but this is actually stated in the small print section. The location is pleasant and the owners are fabulous. The cabin is somewhat worn-out but has all the essentials. I'd say it is indeed chalet rather than hotel as the name suggests.

Dear Guest, Thank you for your comments. You should also have written, that we waved the $ 50 fee, as we have done with everybody who came late except that time someone woke us up at 2 a.m Unfortunately we are too small to warrant a 24 hour reception. Hope you understand. Kind regards, Herbert.

Out dated

Cons: Update the decor
The rooms inside are extremely outdated ? back into the 70' or 80's, very nice owners but need to update.

Hello Anonymous, Actually, we would not want to furnish our rooms with steel and plastic. It does not fit the Alpine style of Chalet Swisse Spa. Regards, Herbert.
