we stayed in the excellent Halycon apartments

Posted Jan 30, 2016
Pros: The location is excellent at the top of Milsom Street so easy access to all facilities. The apartmnet was very clean and comfortable.
Cons: The only thing would be a lift as its a fair climb but its grade 1 listed so that's not possible
Location: Very central and within reach of all facilities right in the centre of Bath
we were upgraded to the apartments from the Hotel. Although the apartment was on the top floor of the beautiful Georgian townhouse, with no lift, it was an excellent stay. Check in process was very easy and the apartment was excellent. It was a one bedroomed apartment and the facilities were very good.

Quiet comfortable hotel, convenient location

Posted Jan 11, 2016
The Halcyon is in a classic Georgian building, on a quiet square a short walk from the train station. Location is convenient, near most "must-see" sights, with an abundance of tasty restaurants nearby. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Good job we were fit

Posted Dec 8, 2015 on Hotels
Are room was number 3.5 top floor accessible only by five flights of stairs the last two being very steep. The first impression of room was clean and neat but soon became obvious that it was not used very much - thick layers of dust on lower shelves of bedside cabinets and bathroom towel rail - room magazines of local interest and forth coming events all dated October and what was most surprising there was not a folder/booklet containing any information about where to go or what to to do within the hotel - In general the hotel was good but a room charge of £195.00 for a one night stay in a third floor annex of a hotel was not expected when booked

Lovely hotel, unfortunately near noisy bar / club

Posted Dec 7, 2015 on Hotels
In general a very nice hotel. The room was of suitable size, comfortable and the staff were friendly. Breakfast was served downstairs and was ample for a continental breakfast. The one thing to note however is that the hotel is situated on top of a bar / club. Therefore in the evening (up until the early hours) you can here the music from your room. Therefore, if you are looking for a quiet retreat and are used to going to sleep with little / no noise I would not recommend this hotel.
