Nice, but...

Check in was a little rough - front desk woman seemed be having a bad night, but that happens to everyone at times. Room was large, beds comfortable, AC worked great, pillows good, shower was fine with a shower head that was positioned so that a 6'0" person didn't have to bend down to wash their hair. Only problem was the the "blackout" blinds on the window - they were about 1" too short and the even-numbered room was on the east side of the building so the sun came barreling in at 6am. Get an odd-numbered room if you don't want a sunrise wake-up call. Otherwise, it was a great place and if I ever get stuck having to spend the night in Port Allen/Baton Rouge again, I would certainly stay here.

Staff friendly, room clean but older, A/C unit in room old and noisy. I would rate it average over all.

I would LOVE to tell you about the stay, but I didn't stay at this hotel. The whole reason I booked this room was to get some work done, but I could not connect to the hotels internet system. I tried several times and even went to the from desk where the young lady was very receptive and helpful, but we could not get my computer connected. I was there MAYBE an hour or so trying to get the problem resolved, but no luck. I asked the young lady if they would charge me for the room even though I didn't stay...She said no. Needless to say, THEY CHARGED ME FOR THE ROOM. I called the manager a when I saw my credit card was charged and he refused to refund my money even though I never used their facility. I booked the Holiday Inn Express that is located in the same parking lot and stay there for 2 nights instead.

On banks of Mississippi so moisture is expected. Beware if you are sensitive to moldy smell.
