Cons: another hotel that charges for parking once you get there. It would be nice to know this beforehand
Nice hotel, but be aware you have to pay for parking.

Pros: Already stated above.
Cons: Already stated above.
Location: Near everything downtown: the Village (shops and restaurants) is right next door. A lovely view of the Mississippi, especially at night, for sunset.
The room was nice, as the hotel is still rather new. I found the experience pleasant, with the exception of a cold room, but that could have been operator error! The location was perfect for my activities at the Louisiana Book Festival and within walking distance of all the fun, new things they are doing around the old state capitol. The breakfast was full and filling, with warm and friendly staff. Coffee and tea at all hours, not to mention the cookies and lemon water upon first entering. They try hard to please their customers, which was a treat. Another problem was parking, in that you need to call and reserve parking outside the hotel - everyone else has to walk across the street to the parking garage, which was a little confusing. Great stay, though.

One of the best Hampton Inns!

This was probably the best Hampton Inn I've ever stayed in, and I usually choose Hampton Inns! It is conveniently located, and easy to find. I was in downtown Baton Rouge for a meeting, and I was able to walk to the meeting from the hotel. The parking was extremely reasonable ($9/day). I had a corner king room, and I thought it was fantastic! I hope to have a need again soon for a room in Baton Rouge. This will be my first choice. The breakfast was well stocked and tasty, though the typical hotel breakfast. The staff was very friendly.
