Room was small but clean. Breakfast was good. Noisy neighbors throughout. Bed a little too soft. Water good and hot.

Awesome experience.

Despite the hotel's old structure from outside, i and my friends enjoyed our stay here, tbe staff memebers were polite and friendly, the room was neat and comfortable, though the AC was too loud and annoying. breakfast was good, we had so many options to choose from to eat, our car was safe in the parking lot. Overall it was an awesome experience for us. I will do it again. The only thing I'll recommend is for them to change the rug on the staircase and remove the sofas from the side of the elevator adjacent to the rooms (2nd floor) as some questionable looking characters were hanging out there with their computers almost all day and that made us ladies feel uneasy.

Better than the rest!

I switched reservations to save money due to LSU game weekend costs. Wish my week long reservation had been here. The staff is was as friendly as the reviews. The room and facility was clean as promised. Our room was the perfect size for two. The shower was roomy, and had good water pressure. It was awkward reaching my towel afterward, but it was outweighed by the overall experience. It was quiet. I expected a noisy game atmosphere, but the families were all respectful! I've stayed at 3 facilities since our daughter entered LSU. This is quieter than downtown, cleaner than near the campus, and was extremely close to a great church- Istrouma - pleasant perk. Cracker Barrel is also close. I won't even look around again. This is better than our experiences at higher end facilities. Comfy bed, satisfactory breakfast, friendly staff, great price, quiet facility and respectful co-guests.

Location: Great restaurants. Family entertainment in walking distance from hotel. Plenty stores nearby to shop.
The only problem I have is when a guest reserves a room with a credit card and then decide to pay cash for their stay when they arrive, why would the hotel still charge the stay to the guest card? That does not make any sense.

Thank you for your comment. Unfortunately, this is our hotel policy. A valid credit is used for authorization to hold funds for a 1 night charge. You may to choose to use a different type of payment once you arrive at the hotel but we do have to have a guarantee method of payment so that your reservation will not be canceled.

Despite flooding disaster, could not cancel a room

Pros: Location is relatively easy to find.
Cons: Management issues. Staff answering the phone needs to be intelligible. Staff needs to be acquainted with how to find reservations and greet guests.

In early July, a refundable reservation was mid Aug. Given the massive flooding in Baton Rouge and the inability to travel, I called to cancel one night. The property staff said I could cancel both nights but there was no guarantee that I could reserve a room for Wed. only. But, things got worse. I called to confirm the reservation for later arrival & so began multiple calls with the same result: I had no reservation. After searching for and finding the confirmation number, it was confirmed. When I called later, again, I was told there was no reservation The staff that answered was very hard to understand. Thus, I spelled my name multiple time and finally resorted to using a phonetic alphabet and spelling it letter by letter at least 2 more times. Upon arrival at 11:30pm, I was welcomed with the declaration that I did not have a reservation. Ultimately, someone else came and tossed a room key telling the desk clerk, "put X in there." There was no plastic liner for the ice bucket so I went to ask for one. I stood outside of a closet where the 2 desk staff where chatting away. I finally interrupted & asked for a plastic insert. One was pulled off the roll and tossed in my direction. Upon going to get ice, there was considerable water puddles on the floor. Notification of this was promptly ignored by the staff.

I was not there as I went to my Son's home each day. I returned before 9:00 to relax before bed. One night there was some kids running & shouting in the hall but it stoped by 10:30. The Staff is very friendly and most helpful. I have stayed there many times and will stay in the future. But it could be a little cleaner.

Excellent Stay

Pros: Clean rooms. Beds and pillows were very comfortable. Front desk staff were very pleasant. Good breakfast. Well lit parking lot and clean.
Cons: I would recommend better quality TVs in the rooms...if I wanted to be picky.
Location: Very good location. Close to entrance to Hwy 10 on my way to LSU. Area was quite nice.
Very good stay. Came to help my daughter get set up for University and this was an excellent place to stay. Very close entrance to Hwy. 10.

Great Hotel

Pros: Clean and good price, friendly front desk.
Cons: Coffee and orange juice watered down!
Location: Plantations, shopping, old WW2 battleship.
We came in to see some sights around Baton Rouge. We enjoyed the hotel and the miniature golf down the road. Ate at the restaurant next door. We saw a plantation and a battle ship. The hotel was clean with new rugs. Everything was in order including clean bathroom and hotel room. A/C was cold and with the hot July weather, that was needed. Hotel in a good location on getting on and off highway.
