Very nice staff! Above average for a Baymont. Hot tub was not working. Breakfast was okay. Lobby looked newly decorated. Looked great.

Worn and dirty pretentious hotel

Posted Oct 14, 2017 on Hotels
Courtney at the front desk was rude and unprofessional. My room smelled of old cigarette smoke (though it was a non-smoking hotel) and must. The toilet leaked from the base and it eventually overflowed. The room was dusty, the sheets were dingy, the desk chair was ripped and worn. There was white dust/lint residue on the carpet due to lack of vacuuming. Breakfast consisted of old brown bananas, waffles, and biscuits and gravy.

Sisters funeral

Posted Sep 11, 2017
From the first moment we arrived at about 1245am and checked in to our King suite, we were warmly greeted by the gurst services agent. We were lost and she came outside to the street corner to wave at US until we saw her. When I went to the room, I found to my surprise, not just a king bedded suite, but one that included a lovely hot tub. Very unexpected surprise. Th e young lady at the desk came to the room and explained the tub operations. All staff were amazing. I chatted with the owner at breakfast about her time in Battle Creek, and how much the town had changes and grown since I grew up here and moved away after college. We were there to attend my sister's burial. While at the breakfast, I received notice that my 90 yr old mom had fallen gravely I'll in Grand Rapids and would not be able to be at my sister's service. She was hospitalized that morning. I was told that it was vitally important that I go see her as soon as possible, that her health had diminished to a point that it was felt that if I didn't see her that trip, that I may not see her alive at another time. I had a 3 night reservation, and upon receiving this news, was able to arrange with the owners to cancel my 3rd nights reservation with no penalty . The entire staff was wonderful. The hotel was well above my expectations. When we are again in my hometown of Battle Creek, we will definitely be booking our stay at the Baymont Inn and Suites Downtown.
