Bayfield charmPosted Sep 21, 2015
Pros: That it was an older Victorian with a porch and a little garden and a short walk from downtown Bayfield.
My wife and I loved this charming B&B on our Circle Superior tour. We enjoyed just sitting on the front porch enjoying the setting sun and the owner, a former apple farmer, entertained us with stories about the different types of apples in the area. Learned a lot!

Gracious host, lovely breakfast. Needs some TLCPosted Sep 18, 2015
Very welcoming host. Small room with window AC which was very noisy. Bed was fair. Linens clean, bathroom clean but long hairs on the floors. Breakfast was very nice. The porch and gardens are lovely. A knowledgable host, generous with info and a good cook. The house needed some TLC that would really help the ambiance.

Wonderful Bed & BreakfastPosted Sep 8, 2015
Pros: Location is great. It was interesting staying in a home that contained so much history.
Cons: Would like to have had a little more counter space in the bathroom but we made it work.
Location: The Northwoods is a beautiful place to explore Wisconsin. Also, the boat ride to the Apostle Islands is not to be missed.
We just returned from our stay at Lucy's Place. The owners are very hospitable and knowledgeable about the area. The breakfast was outstanding. They served fresh seasonal fruit, homemade muffins and a hot entree! It was a good time to spend visiting with the other guests. Very enjoyable breakfast.

Pros: It had air conditioning. The bed was very comfortable.
Cons: The bath tube was difficult to get in and out of. Also, it was very slippery.
Location: The location was close to all shopping and attractions in Bayfield. Minutes away from Madeline Island Ferry. Close to Lake Superior.
I enjoyed my stay at Lucy's. The setting was relaxing. The free breakfast (provided) was wonderful!

Unusual B&BPosted Aug 24, 2015
Pros: The whirlpool baths were divine!
Cons: See above.
Location: Take the ferry to Madeline Island!
I feel conflicted about writing this, because our host, Bruce, was wonderful. He was warm and engaging and a great cook. However, we stayed in three of the four rooms in the home so I think I have a good sense of the place and universally, the decor was a very strange mix of design and function. For instance, our room had a lovely 4 poster antique bed, but it also had a truly ugly console with a coffee pot, microwave, and refrigerator. When I stay at a B&B, I will not be reheating food (although if I had wanted to, there wasn't any kind of coffee table to set anything on). What I really needed was a wardrobe to hang my clothes or an antique dresser, rather than the wire IKEA-quality rack with the mismatched hangers. Two of my daughters were in a room as dark as a cave, again with poor furnishings. My other two girls were in a lovely second floor wicker room, that also had the loud and unnecessary appliances. It wrecks the ambiance. I think it's time for the hosts to visit other area B&Bs to refresh their memory on what the experience can be. Also, they should invite a few folks who work in the hospitality field to stay a night and give them honest feedback. Lastly, they have a beautiful husky that is in the midst of his fall molt. It can't be helped, but he is shedding huge chunks of hair. The breakfast tables should not be set in the middle of the afternoon prior unless covered with sheets (one of my girls had three dog hairs in her meal).

Great Place on the Great LakePosted Aug 8, 2015
Located within walking distance of downtown, the ferry landing and the Brownstone Trail, this site works great for those of us who like to park the car and walk. Breakfasts were outstanding with local produce and excellent coffee. The staff are extremely friendly and knowledgeable. The grounds include trees, flowers and a vegetable garden, with areas to sit scattered throughout. Facilities are well done and very comfortable.

Very comfortablePosted Jul 18, 2015
Can't say enough. Food was amazing! Bruce very informative. The place is decorated in bright warm colors. Every morning breakfast tables had new table cloth and matching napkins. Their dog is a friendly character. Their gardens were amazing. You feel at peace when you are there.

Wonderful place to stayPosted Jul 9, 2015 on Hotels
Great place to stay but no water view. Everything else was absolutely first cabin.
