Ruth, I apologize. There may have been a misunderstanding for the 12.00 charge. Did you have an additional guest stay in your room occupying the pull out bed? The pull out bed is not charged to you and is meant to be used free of charge. However there is a 12.00 charge to have the pull out made. This charge is similar to an additional cot. I apologize this was not thoroughly explained to you. My apologies. Thank you for having stayed with us

Comfortable and Clean, Near Bayside LIRR

Posted Sep 19, 2017
Pros: Close to LIRR, U.S. Merchant Marine Academy and restaurants.
Location: The hotel is located withing walking distance to several restaurants, like BKNY restaurant which has fantastic Thai food and a lively environment, and
The room I stayed in, 261, was clean and comfortable. The bathroom looked as if it had been recently updated with granite vanity and marble flooring. The room also had a good A/C unit that met our needs. The hotel is located withing walking distance to several restaurants, like BKNY restaurant which has fantastic Thai food and a lively environment, and Starbucks directly across the street. Ideally located near the Bayside Long Island Railroad stop, 3 train stops to Great Neck or within a 20 minute drive to the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy.

Cost effective

Good location in Bayside, close to Train station, restaurants and easy to get on the highway. Decor was 1970' s which for my 35th Academy reunion, did make the experience "retro"!!!!

Thanks for staying with us. Believe it or not, the decor is only a couple of years old. We have some old brochures that we should display which would really be amusing to see how far things have come. Perhaps we should create a showcase?

Would only book again if desperate for a hotel

Posted Sep 2, 2017
The staff was o and the breakfast was decent, but the hotel needs a major overhaul. Very old and out dated. Couches in room had burn marks everywhere. The bathroom is very small and never had enough towels for the 5 of us. One of the pictures in the room had mold in it and sent my allergies soaring! I booked a double bed room with a couch and kitchenette thinking it would roomy enough for 5 people but it was a tight space. Unless you have no choice, I would suggest to pay a little more and get a decent hotel.

Thanks for the feedback. We will present your suggestions to the owners. We will also investigate the moldy picture and find out how it happened and most certainly replace the picture and fix the source as well. Thank you for bringing it to our attention.

Would book more in advance.

Pros: The bed was comfortable.
Cons: Have an exaust fan in the bathroom. Better breakfast.
Stayed in room 265. The door to the bathroom hit the toilet bowl. There is no fan in the bathroom. The air conditioner was terrible. The beds were comfortable, however the sheet was stained with black spots. The staff were all very friendly. The breakfast was sparse. It was supposed to start at 7 however it was not ready. The waffle batter came out half water and since that was really the only hot thing to eat besides oatmeal,or a bagel we had it. Parking was awful, mainly because two people parked over the line and were taking more than one spot. I don't think that is monitored at all, you could nicely ask them to reposition their car to take only one spot. You could offer a little more with the breakfast and have someone check in periodically and replenish the food. i.e. empty OJ bottles, two muffins left and one bagel. For the cost of this room for two nights I would definately try to book farther in advance to give myself more of a selection of hotels. But in a family emergency or a funeral you don't have that option.

As per the price we paid the hotel was not as we thought it's cleanliness was not good and the couch was dirty as hell and even the service of hotel was not good.... they charge me $20 for security deposit and was told that money will be return when I checked out but the money was not refunded at all .......

Thank you for your suggestions, we will most certainly rectify them all. As for the $20 authorization, we delete them from our system automatically the day the your check out. It takes your bank a few days to process, but rest assured it has most certainly be reversed already.
