Not plush, but all we needed...

Pros: It had been updated and the room was clean and spacious. A comfortable chair with ottoman, a desk, refrigerator and microwave and laminate floor...
Cons: The girl at the front desk was hard to understand.
Location: On a busy highway, fast foods and convenience shopping were abundant.
Sometimes when we travel, it's for pleasure. This time it was for an appointment at the Mayo Clinic. All we needed was a clean, comfortable room in which to spend the night. That is what we found at the Best Western, Mayport.

It is a nice hotel for stay, staff is so friendly

Pros: We were satisfied with everything.
Location: Good location, quiet place, easy to park, close to the beautiful beach and restaurant by car.
Nice, clean room, friendly staff, easy to park and close to the beach (recommend to go to the Kathryn Abbey Hanna Park beach) if you want to eat a good pizza then go the Bongiorno's Philly Steak Shop Pizza place across the street

Awesome hotel, staff are wonderful

Really enjoyed the stay. Great value, rooms are very spacious with modern decor and high definition tv package. The staff were all wonderful and made the stay very enjoyable.

The room was great. Breakfast area needs more sitting room. The Best Western sign needs to be bigger so it is more visible.

Best Western Mayport

The room smelled musty and of mold. There was something dead that we could smell near the service bar, (refridgerator, micro, and coffee service) couldn't find anything there however and the TV did not have sound. This room was not worth the cost I paid. When I asked the front desk about the TV, her reply was turn up the sound. Really, Really??!! A battery may have fixed it, but there was no maintenance on duty apparently. Could not reset it with the remote that was there. No TV guide, most bare bones place I have stayed in a long time. Will be my last.

Close to Naval base

Cons: Security. Housekeeping propped my door open with the cart & left. I returned for my laptop & no one was around to question if I belonged in there.
No airport shuttle, but the 30 minute Uber ride was reasonable. There's an excellent little restaurant across the street, Bongiorno's Pizza, that has a wide variety of great food, and it's very reasonably priced. Nice pool area. Breakfast is advertised to be available from 6:00 - 9:00 am, it's hit or miss after 8:00 am. Housekeeping propped my door open with their cart & left. I returned for my laptop & there was no staff around to question if I belonged in the room. I was going to mention it to the front desk but there wasn't anyone there either.

Rooms need attention

Room smelled of CIGARETTE SMOKE. Mattresses were uncomfortable because they were compressed on the sides and you could not get a level sleeping service. Breakfast was good but the coffee and juice were awful. Juice tasted like watered down acid, coffee simply bland.

If you would have brought this to our attention at the time of your stay we could arranged for you to have another room. We are a 100% smoke free hotel but occasionally someone will violate our policy. We have treated the room to ensure it the smoke is neutralized and cleaned and I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this caused. I also contacted the juice vendor to service the machine.
