Location, location, location!

You can't beat the location! Just a few steps to the stairs down to Pacific Beach. The rooms are nicely renovated, great bathrooms with clean, spacious showers. My only complaint is that it was quite noisey throughout the night and early morning, and the rooms were very bright at sunrise because of the wooden shutters. Would recommend to anyone! Pleased with our stay!

Thank you for your comments. I am wondering if the shutters were not facing the correct direction. There is a significant difference depending on the way the shutters are closed. Please, the next time you stay with us, please let us know at the reception and we'll send someone to take care of the noise. Thank you again!

Nice hotel on the beach

Good hotel on the beach and close to everything in Pacific Beach. They have recently updated the rooms and added air conditioning. Rooms have a fridge and microwave which is convenient. Continental breakfast is just juice, coffee and a few pastries

Was a nice stay.

Office staff friendly, remodeled but detail is sloppy job. In my kitchen unit you have to bring a really heavy chair from kitchen to desk in main room in order to sit at the desk. When I asked front desk thats what he told me I have to do. I just had recent back surgery and can not lift.I said to him really no chair for the living room desk? He just shrugged his shoulders. I brought dish soap and a sauce pan and skillet. Theres a two burner stove and no pans or dish soap. Also a coffee pot but no coffee. The bathroom is big and newly remodeled but in the window is black mildew. The parking pass they give you is for the sister hotel a long block away. You are lucky if you find street parking at the hotel. We were lucky enough to find close spots all 3 nights. The air conditioner was very nice. Your steps away from the beach which made it nice.

I do wish your situation would have been brought to me personally. I would have made certain that you would have had a better option for your desk. We are working on the other details you mentioned, and hope very much that you will stay with us again.

Updated rooms

Diamond Head Inn recently updated their rooms and added air conditioning. This is a major plus. Great location across boardwalk from the beach and close to everything in Pacific Beach

Easy Location and Newly Re-Modeled

Pros: Location and view of the water make this place.
Cons: More towels as part of the regular room set up - not just on request. Same with pillows.
Check in was a little odd at first (no one was in the office - but came back quickly) once we got started the staff was kind enough to upgrade us to an ocean view room! Lovely! Re-model well worth it. Large shower, kitchen area, and bed was super comfy.

Room was quite nice, or will be when they finish upgrades. Bed was comfortable. No electricity 1st day, no bath towels 2nd day, no table in kitchen. Door needs black out curtain as light outside was very bright. Bathroom was great. Location is great.

Thank you for your comments. The renovation has been a challenge for everyone involved. We did place window shutters over the obscure glass at the entrance. It seems to block out a very high percentage of the light. I hope you will come back again soon.

Dirty room with no kitchen

The room I reserved was supposed to include a kitchen. Upon checking into the room, there was an area with a sink and nothing else. No refrigerator, no microwave, no cook top, not even so much as a coffee maker. I told the owner who checked us in that we reserved a room with a kitchen and he informed me none of their rooms had a kitchen. In addition, the room was dirty. There were no interior doorknobs. The TV didn't work properly. I had to put my entire body weight into the exterior door to open and close it. There were bugs (earwigs) on the pillow on the bed. The entirety of the "continental breakfast" spread was three muffins, two danishes and a carton of orange juice.

I do apologize that you did not like your accommodations. First, we have not completely finished our renovations when it comes to the kitchen, but have rented these rooms based on everything else being new. These details will be complete within the week. As for the breakfast, we have a very small lobby to go with our simple continental breakfast. We only advertise Danish, muffins, juice, coffee, and a selection of teas. Noisy and no parking

The room was old bed soft tub had rust stains. It was very noisy, got zero sleep. And there was no parking.
