Nice Staff but cockroach!!!

The staff was very friendly and helpful however upon leaving we saw a large cockroach next to the door. I notified the cleaning staff which was on my fooor at the time and also notified the front desk. I have NEVER had a cockroach in my hotel room before!! This was terrible!

Good location. Parking spaces a bit small but we were always able to find a more isolated spot. It was convenient to have free hot breakfast there every day, especially with kids. Liked the contemporary feel of the hotel as it was laminated floors. (I always think carpets are so dirty and can hide too many things)

The hotel is a decent stay. Nothing to complain about but nothing to rave about either. But it’s clean and does the job but there was no coffee during breakfast :(

Pros: Towels and staff
Cons: Pillows and breakfast selection
Location: Very convenient to the beach and the highway.
I want to start by saying the staff was great at the property. We had a room on the second floor that smelled like cat liter and we were awoken multiple times during the night due to a very heavy footed quest in the room above. They moved us for the second night into a top floor room. It smelled much better and of course the noise went away. Pillows are very flat. Towels were nice though. Breakfast was disappointing. Not many choices and not very appetizing. The parking garage is very tight, I am glad I had a small car.

Pleasant staff, modern comforts

Pros: Waffles! Pleasant staff (Tatiana!)
Cons: The parking & directions to the main fwys., etc. is a great idea but confusing as to where you exit the property.The refrigerator was not very cold.
I loved the waffle-making for breakfast! Fun & delicious! Full buffet was a highlight for the hubby. Room was comfortable and I enjoyed the balcony view. I'm not sure I would have liked the basement rooms.

Very clean, quiet, nice staff, and great breakfast

Cons: Nothing. All good!
Location: The location isn't good if you're wanting a nice view. We stayed one night and didn't leave the hotel, so can't comment on things to do nearby.
The hotel was very clean. Staff was very nice, very welcoming. The location is a bit industrial and no nice views, but it was quiet and the room was very nice, which is what we needed. Had a good night's sleep and their breakfast is great! Sausage, eggs, biscuits and gravy and muffins. Great way to start the day!

Great hotel and very nice staff

Pros: Comfy rooms, clean, nice staff
Location: Grocery shopping
I had a great time staying at La Quinta. Not too far from Vons/Trader Joes and easily accessible from airport and downtown SD. The staff was so friendly and it was very convenient that breakfast was available as early as 6:30am. Definitely recommed!

Clean, convenient location.

Pros: Location, pool, hot tub.
Location: It's in Mission Bay so it's not far to beaches, etc, however the immediate area around the hotel is mostly fast food.
The check in clerk was quirky but did the job. We went to the pool area around 9pm and our card keys didn't work to get back into the hotel. A father who was also there said this is like the beginning of a horror movie, however when they called the front desk the quirky clerk came down pretty soon and let us in. No horror occurred.
