Under Renovation

Posted Nov 18, 2017
This hotel is currently under renovation and it is much needed. It's a very old and outdated facility that really should be closed. I am a faithful Marriott customer but this hotel is far from Marriott quality.

Dear Greg, I am very sorry we failed to deliver the exceptional stay you deserved. Thanks also for making candid observations about the overall condition of our property. I am happy to share that our on-going renovation of our property will touch on every area. This $30 million dollar renovation will end with us re-branding the hotel as an Autograph Collection hotel, part of Marriott's luxury portfolio. I encourage you to try us again in the near future. I am confident you will enjoy a better stay. Stephanie Bauer, General Manager

Good thing about hotel is it is in an nice area.

Posted Nov 13, 2017
Pros: Nice area and a good recommendation for breakfast.
Cons: The entire hotel. Please put the renovation on the website.
Location: Great eats.
The real issue with this hotel right now is it is under renovation and this was not stated on the Expedia website. The expectation for this hotel any Marriott hotel is of high standard and this hotel didn't deliver in any way. Upon arriving the hotel smelled like old musty mildew. The bar was outside in a tent and didn't open until 5. We were there for the Bruno Mars concert and it was extremely disappointing. I would not have booked this hotel if i know it was under renovation and all the amenities were not available.

Hotel under construction- Should you be informed?

Posted Nov 8, 2017
Pros: this time i didn't--and this is my "go to hotel" for turnaround trips in business trips to LA from the Bay Area. Typically top notch--everything.
Cons: Transparency about major innovation--that limits amenities or sources to other hotels and NOISE levels.
This hotel is under major renovation and prospective guests are not alerted and still charged full fee for noise levels, limited to no access to amenities but directed to other hotels, etc. Had i known this i would have selected another hotel.

Go Somewhere Else

Posted Oct 17, 2017 on Hotels
I will admit up front that I usually stay in cheaper hotels (think Hampton Inn) when I travel for business because I like to minimize the expense to the client. I stayed here this time because my expert had booked it and I thought it would be beneficial to stay in the same hotel. I was disappointed right away to see that the hotel is undergoing substantial construction. I understand sometimes a hotel needs updating but for the price, I expected a hotel in decent shape. The fitness room is closed so I need to walk .6 miles to a gym. Yeah, my fat a** can use the extra walking but it's a bit of an inconvenience to walk over there in gym shorts and a t-shirt using my cell phone for directions. Add in that the water pipes made loud noise throughout the night to wake me up (it takes a lot to wake me up) and the room is generally dumpy, and they're still charging me $14/day for internet and I really wish I had booked a Hampton Inn. This is the most disappointed I can ever remember being at a hotel...and it takes a lot to get me to write a negative review. Perhaps you should come back when the construction is done but I think you can and really should do better for now.

Under Renovation

Posted Sep 29, 2017
I have stayed at this hotel before and looked forward to returning BUT the hotel is under a necessary but noisy renovation; the dining room and bar are in a tent in front of the hotel. I do not recommend it until the renovation is finished.

Our room smelled like a locker room, nasty!

Posted Sep 24, 2017 on Hotels
Our room smelled like a locker room. It was terrible! The hotel is undergoing a remodel and we drove past the entrance because it was blocked off. The staff was very friendly but the hotel was old and smells moldy.
