Beautiful views from room.Great location. Bathroom needs some paint and a good cleaning.. Very close to a restaurant- always smelled like cheeseburger. Fair matresses.

On the beach, fun location

Posted Dec 1, 2017
Pros: I like that the hotel is right on the beach and affordable and centrally located on the beach/boardwalk.
Cons: All thing considered, they are doing it right !
Location: Perfect location. Surf, bike, sail, eat eat eat, walk, nap nap nap lol :-)
I had a relaxing stay right on the boardwalk, I rented a bike right by the hotel and rode all over, I rode to the aquatic center and rented a sailboat for an hour . I rented a boogie board and wetsuit and had a great time in the waves ( I'm 55 lol ) ! I walked to Belmont park and rode the rollercoaster . I ate lots of taco's ! I was in shorts the whole time, in november ! I got a tan ! I wish I could have stayed longer.

Great location

Posted Dec 1, 2017
Cons: Remove the parking charge of $17.00 per day.
The staff was awesome, rooms are clean and comfy. Very centralized location, very convenient. The negative side was that my room key barely worked, I had to swipe over and over. Also, the $17.00 charge a day to park is ludicrous - we have stayed at very high end hotels on the beach and none have ever charged us for parking. Apparently if you book your room thru the hotel, they waive the fee, but the room prices are higher than booking thru Expedia. Not much of a saving.

Thank you for choosing The Surfer Beach Hotel! We apologize if you were experiencing some difficulties while using your room keys during your stay; they can sometimes be effected by items such as credit cards and cell phones. We do understand that paid parking is not always expected and we do our best to keep the price low (surrounding hotels offer parking at upwards of $20 or more per night).

Great beach hotel

Posted Nov 21, 2017
Nothing fancy yet it was perfect for what I wanted. Decent sized room, quiet st night, comfy bed, very friendly and helpful staff. Fridge in room. Parking is $17/night which was unexpected. The restaurant in front of it, World Famous, is fabulous. We ate there several times. Would stay there again. Need 3rd or 4th floor for a decent view of ocean, more towards middle of hotel. Very happy with my stay.

on beach, rooms worn and outdated

Posted Nov 15, 2017
Pros: location
Cons: a coat of pain and updating the room
Location: many things to do nearby as it is right on the beach
great location right on the beach and beautiful pool. Even though I do not have younger kids they had an area that supplied sand toys and boogie boards etc which makes it great so a you do not have to travel with all the items. The only draw back is that the rooms are dark and though no visible dirtiness noted they look dingy and not very clean. A good coat of paint and update is needed

Thank you fro your feedback Jen. Sounds like we did have more pros than cons, however I will pass down your feedback to maintenance. I am sure the rooms can look better with a good coat of paint like you mention. Thank you again.

Good location. Outrageous parking fees for guests.

Posted Oct 25, 2017
Friendly staff, nice location right on the beach with plenty places to eat so close by. Very surprised by the parking fees. $17 a day for parking on thier lot seemed excessive for paying guests. No mention of it when we booked.
