"First the good....the hotel was very clean. That is paramount to me, so I gave a very good rating due to that. There is no elevator so if you cannot do the stairs, you need to ask for a first-floor room. Even though we can easily do the stairs, taking up suitcases can be a challenge. Our room was pretty small, but it had all the amenities (TV, microwave, fridge). Breakfast was better than expected being the area was pretty small. No wheat bread - only white and plain bagels. Eggs and sausage were really good as was the waffle maker. All in all, although the beds were comfortable, I'm glad we were only there one night. Best for a brief layover......"

"This is a cost-effective option for the region. The rooms are clean, but the motel has a run-down feel to it. When we arrived, the card-key generator wasn't working. Staff let us in to our room, and we got working keys the next morning, but I haven't run into that problem anywhere else. Likewise, the card-reader on a side entrance, which would have been very useful for accessing our room, was broken, necessitating a longer walk around to the front of the motel. In the shower, the plate behind the dial had come away from the wall. It didn't affect the quality of the shower (which was fine in terms of heat and pressure), but it's not a good look. Breakfast was good and plentiful (I had scrambled eggs and sausages, but there's also cereal, various breads, and a waffle-maker, with orange and apple juice). My wife and I would come back, and thus the "Good" overall rating."

"We were there for a weekend getaway. Even though the weather was uncooperative, the stay was excellent since the location of the hotel is right on Main Street so there were many shops to browse with a variety of goods and restaurants options. In addition, the hotel has a couple of very warm common areas to provide a home away from home feel with games, yoga mats, blocks, coffee stations and wine / liquor glasses to use. The parking can be a bit challenging since the hotel doesn't provide parking and it is on Main Street but, there are many street and lot options along the side streets."

Overlook Lodge at Bear Mountain

"Beautiful and relaxing. Something I’d do different next time, I’d definitely stay at the Inn. As a solo female traveler, the Overlook was too secluded - it broke some of the solo traveling rules I’ve set for myself. Also, was a little bummed the next morning. Upon check in I was told about their Fall Foliage Buffet. I opted to do this instead of brunch the next day. Turns out that morning was a Princess Brunch, which canceled out the buffet and I had shown up after brunch hours. But the cafe was open and I was able to get a little something there."

"Clean room, nice staff. Nice breakfast area added since I was last there. Very close to Paramount Theater and train station. Room had great view of the Hudson. Overall, a good overnight stay."

"Clean room & comfortable bed. Thoughtfully designed room decor & layout. Bathroom was beautiful with a big shower. The shower has a steamer in it, but it isn't functional (confirmed this with the front desk; they are installed but a risk to use so they aren't useable). Our room had large windows and a nice balcony overlooking the courtyard. The coffee & tea station in the hall had a good variety. The location is very good and a quick walk to food & drink. I thought the cost was reflective of the quality design & details. Would stay here again."
