UNDER CONSTRUCTION
I had no idea the hotel was under construction. There was no info on how to get inside. No one would answer the phone. The A/C was turned off in the hallway. The elevator only worked half the time. The room was nice, but it was a bad experience otherwise. Someone tried to come into my room and woke me up before 10 am AND I HAD the DND sign on the door. Stay somewhere else for sure.

This property felt like a motel instead of a hotel. I normally have no issues with Candlewood. Dirty and old inside. Staff was nice though.

Arrived to check-in after 3:00 pm, and was told the room wouldn’t be ready for another hour. After checking in an hour and a half later, we opened the freezer/fridge in the room and were blasted by the smell of shrimp/bad fish. The smell was pretty unbearable so we chose to not use the fridge/freezer and kept the door tightly closed. After dinner sometime around 6:30 or so, the door to our room was opened by another guest. Apparently the front desk gave this guest a key to our room not knowing the room was already occupied. The beds were comfortable and we liked how roomy the suite was, but I think we’ll be avoiding this location in the future.

Ok but not very clean
Hotel room had an odor to it. Bed wasnt very comfortable. Luckily I just needed the room for a few hours before heading to a job to catch some sleep. If I had to stay in the area again I'd probably get a room at the holiday inn instead.

Good, but not as good as I usual!
A loose toilet seat was the only complaint, but the place could use a little freshening up! Candlewood is usually nice, but in this case a little overpriced, but always a good dependable experience!

Great place - great location!
Loved the kitchenette inside the room! Clean and tidy (aside from the bathroom door that looked like someone had punched it at some point). But we had a good time speculating what might have happened. Other than that, the room was great! Front staff was so helpful and friendly! If I ever need a stay in that area again, I will definitely be staying at this hotel!

Excellent Stay!
The lady at the front desk was wonderful. She was very friendly and helpful. The room and pretty much the entire hotel were very clean. The bed was comfortable, as well as the recliner. The only issue with my stay was that the toilet made a awful noise whenever it was flushed, but quickly went away. When the room was as great as it was, you can easily over look something as simple as a little noise. I highly recommend this hotel.

Decent hotel, little too expensive for what it is.
This is a no-smoking hotel which was perfect for me as I do not smoke, however upon entering the room you can tell someone previously smoked in there. There are always a few people outside the front door smoking, I think it's disgusting. The management should make them walk at least 100 foot away, the smell fills the lobby pretty easily. There was a free bag of pop corn in the room when I entered it. The shower head trickles water, I love it when it's like a downpour on my head though. The desk has 2 different chairs to sit in, it's convenient for those who like options. The fridge was clean and kept my food cold. The front service staff was on their phones every time I saw them, a couple of times they didn't notice me and I had to get their attention. The price per night is about $130, I don't think the hotel is worth it though, maybe in the $90-$100 price range. When I stayed there it was pouring rain, in the front entrance is where the water from the roof funnels down and doesn't disperse around the sides or the back so if it starts to rain there BRING AN UMBRELLA or you will get soaked like I did. I get the neighborhood vibe that if you leave your vehicle unlocked, you will get it broken in to. I always carry my gun on me so I felt confident I would not be disturbed. I suggest you book a room at hotels.com instead of on site or on their website, it's about $10 cheaper per night.

hotel misrepresented available rooms, breakfast
We did not get the type of room that we booked through hotels.com Also hotels.com mentioned that there was breakfast included and there was no breakfast. Hotels.com has been accommodating about the breakfast, giving us a voucher for a stay at a future hotel. However, the hotel has not contacted us or even apologized for giving us a smaller room with no door between the bedroom and the living room. We have children that are 4 and 6 years old and we need a separate door to get any sleep. I spent 20 minutes on the phone with someone from hotels,com to get this type of room, and would have booked elsewhere had I known they did not have this available. I feel they misrepresented what they had available and then failed to even apologize. Also our room did not even get cleaned or re supplied in between our two nights. This was among the worst stays I have had at a hotel. I had to go out at midnight to Walmart to get breakfast supplies, as they informed us at check in there were absolutely no breakfast options. When we were checking out the front desk mentioned that we could have gotten something for free in the hotel store - AFTER I had made a midnight Walmart run! Do not book here - they are not accommodating or nice.

Asked for a wake up call and a cab called for the morning- didn't receive either. Alarm clock in room didn't work.

Not bad, other than the smell in the hallway which also permeated the room I tried numerous things to get rid of the smell but it stayed. My friend who lives in the area says that's just the smell of the area, but having to breathe that in all night wasn't great. The room itself was fine and although I didn't use them the fridge and stove would be beneficial on longer stays. For the price it was a decent deal.

Room was not clean when entered. Staff immediately handled when approached. Was informed at check-in rooms were only cleaned every seven days during stay (once a week). Otherwise stay was OK.

I liked the hotel it wasnt a four star but it was more than I expected. It was clean and people were very nice. I would stay there again. The only problem was there was nothing to do in Nederland. Which has nothing to do with the hotel.

Not a bad stay, it just seemed that they were a little busy, trash was overflowing in the second floor elevator landing and mud was tracked throughout the entrance(it had been raining) other than that it was an uneventful stay.

Not worth it
Dirty room (stains on furniture, pile of dried food in microwave, tons of bugs). People yelling in the hallway every single night. Dogs barking constantly. Front desk personnel weren't rude, but definitely not friendly. The room I booked and paid for wasn't even available so I was downgraded. If I was offered a free stay at this hotel, I would pass.

The location was perfect but there were things lacking in the room. First, the heat was not working in the room. There were no non smoking rooms left. My roommate brought an electric blanket but I didn't. There was a plastic bag left under one of the beds before we arrived there.

We enjoyed our stay! The room was very spacious and clean. The staff we encountered were very friendly and helpfull. My only complaints were they will only let you have two towels at a time and the pool was an unswimable shade of green! I would stay there again if they fix the pool.

Wonderful stay; needs a little work.
It was a great stay. However, the air conditioner on the 3rd floor was broken. It was hot, stifling, and quite uncomfortable in the hallway. I complained to the attendant and she indicated they were waiting for a needed part to arrive. Hopefully, it has finally been fixed.

Great location!
Great location and was close to a lot of restaurants! The hotel in the hallway had a musty smell but you couldn't smell it in the room and the rooms were very clean. Gym was nice and it was in a nice neighborhood. As well as easy to locate off the interstate. I would stay again!

we enjoyed our stay, however... the bathroom toilet ran all the time,,, with water as much as we need it.. the cost of it... the flapper was so bad, you need to fix them asap!!! the cost of the rooms was expensive... we had asked for a disabled room, but did not get one, also i rented two rooms and wanted them next to each other and we were as far apart as possible my daughter and her husband were in room 21o and we were in room 222. just fix the bathroom toilets and lower the cost for vietnam veterans!!!!

Housekeeping is slipping
This was my 4th stay at this hotel and I must say that the housekeeping is more than a little off. I understand that this is mainly an extended stay hotel and housekeeping is provided once weekly to these guests. But once one of these guests checks out, I would expect the room to get a thourogh cleaning and not just hitting the "high spots". Don't get me wrong, the bed was made, clean and comfortable and the bath was clean but the attention to details was non existant. For example, I had a smoking room, there were no ashtrays. I had to reconnect the last 2 drapery hooks and the lamp shade by the bed was crooked. Not a big deal to some and it really didn't bother me that much as I was just using the room for a nights sleep. The next morning is when I noticed the chair legs had not been dusted in weeks. Looking around the room, the situation was similar. Top of the TV, top of the fridge, the dresser drawer tops all had a thick layer of dust. Since I was checking out it wasn't worth making a fuss over and I will probably stay there again because it is so convenient to my relatives. But if the housekeeping and attention to details doesn't improve I will be staying at another nearby hotel after that.

Several guests were up at 4:30 am and left at 5:00 am to go to work, just way too early unless you are also on an early schedule. Back door had been jimmied, posing a potential security threat. Front desk was informed. Otherwise ok.
