Historic and well located

Posted Sep 29, 2017
My room was on the top floor and as there is no elevator the only way to access it was via the narrow winding staircase. The room was very small - even by European standards - and very average. The decor was less than bland. The curtain on the window appeared to be an after thought as I didn't fit the window. The small closet had a door on it that looked like a leftover and it was so small that when you opened it the luggage stand fell out as it has been jammed in. The bathroom sink was pretty to look at but as there was no place to set down even a toothbrush a small awkward cocktail table had been placed next to it like an after thought. More care and thoughtfulness is required on the overall design and ergonomic elements of the room I stayed in.

A wonderful property.

Pros: Great size room. Lovely bathroom. Amazing location. Wonderful welcoming staff. Ambience.
Cons: Nothing
Loved the hotel.. The room was spacious and the bathroom lovely. Bruno and Emmanuelle were delightful as were the reception staff. Breakfast was wonderful, prepared to order and the ambience of the breakfast room/restaurant was very special.

Good hotel, little English from staff

Posted Jul 21, 2017
Good hotel, very historical, but disappointed at the end. Staff didn't speak or understood English, which ended up costing us 60 EUR for breakfast when they had told us it was complimentary. Double check to avoid being charged incorrectly due to a misunderstanding

Thank you for having staying at our property. We really appreciate your comments, which are constructive for us. The staff speaks English, just the owner's wife has some difficulties, but all informations you need are indicated on your Reservation Summary. Despite this misunderstanding, it would be a pleasure to see you again!

The first pleasant surprise is the front door.

A wonderful property with an amazing history combined with a suite with its own private courtyard. This is a great place to explore Beaune and the vineyards.

Interesting and very old building

Posted Jul 4, 2017
Very near Beaune's Notre Dame cathedral, the hotel dates back to the 12th century. Quite difficult to find and to park but the manager offered to valet park my car for €15 per day as we were staying for 3. First impressions of main reception/ dining area are just wow! Ancient arches....quite dark....huge sofas and a few tables and chairs. Candles lit...very atmospheric but like being in a church - too quiet and lacked "buzz"! Rooms nicely decorated, simple and in character. Tiny bathroom but good shower. We whispered our way through one breakfast at €20 per head...ok but not fantastic and so went round the corner to a lovely cafe for the other 2. Didn't fancy dinner in the hotel restaurant and glad we went to Kissoh, Le Dilletante in Beaune and Auprès du Clocher in Pommard instead. If you love good wine and food then this area is just heaven! Staff were very helpful with getting our large cases up and down the very steep stairs. We were on the second floor.

Unique hotel in the centre of Beaune

Posted Apr 26, 2017
The hotel is a unique converted abbey dating back to the very early 1300's. it has been beautifully fitted out to a very high standard. The service, food and wine are exceptional. And the hotel is in the heart of the ancient walled town and therefore is close to everything.

Well appointed hotel in an historic building

Very good hotel in centre of Beaune - well worth a visit. Be prepared to walk up the 12th Century stone spiral staircase!

Pros: Restaurant is exceptional
Location: Well locat d
No elevator as it would be impossible to install in this former Abbaye. Stir, I highly recommend. Our room and dining room were unique.
