The room was ok - neat and clean, but the facilities expected off Holiday Inn wasn't much. The gym was good and had necessary equipment. Food was not very interesting.

Nice hotel located close to amenities

Posted Jan 9, 2017
Pros: It was located very close to the place I needed to visit and close to bus routes. There is even an ASDA store located about 100m from the hotel.
Cons: The bathroom could do with some attention. The towel rail is not fixed properly where there appears to be some water damage around the shower tray
Location: ASDA is about 100m away. it is sloe to the train station and the centre of town.
I had a good experience. I arrived really late and met someone at reception who quickly sorted out my room. the room was comfortable and had the basic things one needed. The only thing I didn't like was that when I requested a shower cap, I was told to go to reception to collect it as they were understaffed and had other events to plan for :-(

Close to stevenage new town.

Was met by staff with 'move your car as the hotel car park is for executive room guests only' needless to say this lowly standard room guest took offence at this and will not stay there again. A visit to the car park at 1am revealed 8 empty spaces?

Dear Guest, Thank you for your feedback following your recent stay at Holiday Inn Stevenage. I'm sorry to hear that your stay was marred by the level of the customer service. Please accept my sincere apologise and rest assured that your comments with be shared with our Front Office Manager. As we are a Town Centre based hotel we have very limited spaces onsite which are reserved for the guests who are blue badge holders and the guests staying in executive rooms. Therefore we have an agreement with NCP car parking located just across the road to us which offers a discounted rate for all the guests of Holiday Inn Stevenage.

Parking at the hotel

Posted Jan 2, 2016
Parking for the hotel unless you are in the executive rooms is in a public parking lot across the dual carriageway - accessed by an underpass !!!! Certainly not good is travelling alone !!!!

This hotel has lost the plot

Posted Dec 13, 2015
Cons: It took staff more than forty minutes to replace a faulty kettle.
Location: The location is ok - but Stevenage town centre is worn-out and bleak with almost no suitable places to go in the evening.
A wedding party disco meant that sleep or just quiet was not possible until well after midnight. Most guests look for a quiet comfortable night. The noise, the pounding, even two floors up from the party was very uncomfortable! Hotels need to decide where their main income is to be found. If it is wedding parties then become a pub!

Business near to hotel

Posted Jul 6, 2015
Pros: The public rooms what I saw of them in the few hours I was there.
Cons: The beds mine was not particularly comfortable the bedding which was flat and looked dirty
Location: Easy to find
I was unsure about parking as I knew I would be checking in late Saturday night. Whoever answered the phone when I contacted the hotel told me I would have to park in th public car park and pay with no apologetic for this and that made me worried being a female traveling alone and it would be dark when I arrived.the receptionist was on the night very pleasant thought. I found the room very "tired " looking and the cover on the duvet inside out and grey looking instead of crisp and white. No tissues in the tissue box and when I tried to ring room service I couldn't get though so I gave up and didn't want to bother with reception and ordering at the bar after a hard days work and traveling it was to much. Breakfast was ok but not particularly well laid out and stuck in a corner with not much room to move around. All in all disappointing I normally use premier inns but thought I would have a little more luxury as I had traveled a lot over the last few weeks, but was very disappointed.

Very pleasantly surprised.

Posted Nov 2, 2014
Pros: Quality & comfort of the bedrooms. Convenient location.
Cons: Limited parking.
From the outside this hotel does not look promising - a fairly anonymous square block on a far from picturesque Stevenage dual carriageway. But inside it's a lot more impressive with a modern, airy, open reception. The rooms are clean, comfortable, modern and well appointed (especially with the 'executive' upgrade). Had an excellent peaceful night - would gladly stay here again in future.

Charmless

Posted Oct 29, 2014
Arrived at 22.00. Space in hotel car park. Sadly I am told that i have to park on the other side of dual cariageway road in some public car park. 20 mins walk in the rain. Bloody ridiculous! Grim charmless hotel. Did not deliver my newspaper in the morning But comfortable room. Good location for town centre. Avoid unless desparate

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to review your stay with us and provide feedback. Our websites do indicate that parking is in the nearby NCP car park and we make this clear on all sites, there is a secure underpass taking you under the main road of St Georges Way where both car parks are which sit opposite the Hotel, the underpass brings you right out at the Hotel making it a short distance. Should you be returning then our Executive room packages do provide onsite car parking. I do apologies your paper failed to reach you and we will look into this. I am please you find our location and comfort of the rooms to be good, and i do hope you will return when next visiting the area. Kind Regards Hotel Management Team
