Not as advertised
Spacious living area! Great for a longer stay, a little too much for our short weekend trip. Breakfast buffet was disappointing, we had to go out to eat. Also, was a little too far from central area or shopping.

Good hotel BUT no air conditioning
It's is a little out of the way, but otherwise clean, very courteous staff, well priced but Beijing can get hot and with the pollution levels leaving the windows open is not good.

Terrible service and ok bedding
We had great stay at Ascot in Tokyo. Hence we booked to stay at Ascott again in Beijing. When we arrived, no one helped us with luggage, unlike in Tokyo. The receptionist was rather impolite and very bad manner. One of the female receptionist was shouting very loud on the phone to her colleague in front of us, it was truly funny experience. We will never stayed at Ascott in Beijing again. We did enjoyed our last time at Marriot Executive Apartments close Dongdan, unfortuntely it was fully booked of our date.

Our family getaway to Beijing
A 20 minute walk to the Silk Market. Truly excellent Customer Service (special thank you to Dennis and Tina)! Very spacious suite. Excellent breakfast. Only downside was that there is no swimming pool.

Great suites for family stay.
Was in Beijing for a family holiday for 7 adults and 4 kids. The location was good as the Guo Mao station was just about 7 mins walk away. There were restaurants just across the hotel, which provided a quick lunch just after checking in. The xiushuijie shopping was just 1 station away. The room was a bit dated but was kept very clean. The Housekeeping came every morning to help tidy up the place, which was much appreciated after having spent a long day out sightseeing. The only puzzling thing was that they only provided 2 breakfast per room, even though we had booked 2 suites with 2 bedrooms each. So half of us took turns and went out for breakfast which was not that bad also. We won't want to take hotel breakfast for 4 days straight either. Overall, it was an enjoyable stay.

The Appartmment property is for sale and doing refurbish same time, so Guests have to take a bit time to get lift in or out during the day. It is ridiculous to provide only one breakfast for two guests,.

Careful on the Breakfast inclusive remarks
The breakfast inclusive as indicated at the hotels.com website and the number of persons differ. I got a 2 bedroom apartment and was told that there is only 2 breakfast per day for my 2 bedrooms. Was disappointed on this arrangment and the front desk manager told us that this is what hotels.com wants to use as a selling point without indicating that breakfast only apply for 2 persons.

Staff is friendly. The room is comfortable. The only improvement is all towels and refill water can set for all additional bed guest, no need for us to remind will be perfect

We enjoyed the staying at this hotel. It is very spacious with large living room. It makes you feel like home with a fully equipped kitchen. The location is superb, close to some of the best restaurants and all kinds of activities in the city. It is walkable to world trade centre, JianWai, YongAnli. If you prefer in-room comfort and space to dining variety and availability, this hotel is definitely the choice.

Hotel is comfortable, but can work on staff
Hotel was comfortable and nice. We had paid for 5 people to stay in the room, but were only provided with 4 towels. The staff asked us why we needed an extra towel. We had plans in the morning and were told that the towel will be up until 10AM. We had to then go down stairs and talk to the person at the front desk for 15 minutes to explain the situation. They did eventually deliver about 30 minutes later with an extra towel. Also, reservation said we would get free breakfast daily. Figured the we would get 5 passes for breakfast daily (since we booked for 5 people), but were told that the room only included two. They then asked us to call Expedia about this, but did not provide us a way to do so to get the problem solved in a timely manner.

Impeccable Service, Comfortable Stay
I booked the wrong date and arrived at the hotel technically without reservation. The service extended by the property had been of absolute professional, helpful and knowledgeable as the team went all out to help me sort out my reservation. Beyond this, service is impecaable with a warm welcome drink (with the winter at -2 degree C outside), nice cosy slipper, comfortable bed and every other small thing showed a lot of through is put into making the room absolutely comfortable. One small note is unlike hotels, they do not have a drop off lobby and the entrance is like an apartment gate.

My son and I stayed at a very spacious two bedroom apartment with a full kitchen and two bathrooms. Everything was great. The place was super clean. Although it was located in central business district in Beijing it was actually very quiet 'cause it was about .25 mile away from the big street (chang an jie). I highly recommend it to any party with two adults or more members.

Good experience in the Ascott Beijing
The hotel was not easy to find by Beijing taxi drivers. Not sure why. The external of the entrance was under construction, but not not interfere with the hotel. Lobby is small and basic. The rest was as expected by high end apartment hotels.The apartment was clean and well equipped. Overall good experience. Will return there in a month.

Ascott in Beijing
This is a bargain for the money. This two bedroom suite in the center of Beijing was fabulous. The breakfast was excellent and the entire staff spoke English. It was a great experience and I highly recommend it.

Good stay, due to renovations, the lobby access was untidy. We had booked 2 x 2 bedroom units and we got one 2 bedroom and 1 x 3 bedroom which was fine but the extra bedroom was locked along with the 2nd TV set.The children's area was good. Taxi's seemed to have difficulty finding the front lobby.

Overall myself and my family enjoyed the Ascott. The location was perfect. It was located very near to the Subway for quick access to Forbidden City, and other attractions. There was a Starbuck's and a Wal-Mart within walking distance - in addition to many other tourist friendly places for necessities or "nice to haves". We rented a 3 bedroom apartment and everything was well. We had two minor complaints. First, the hotel is considered a 5-Star but the facilites are not really of that grade. The walls are damaged, the molding is damaged, the paint is marked-up.... overall there is a very "worn" feeling of the hotel and the rooms inside. There are two towers to this hotel and one tower was under renovation while we were there. If the renovation is succesful in upgrading all the damage to the interior, then I foresee them able to give you much better experience. The second issue, the beds were very hard. We had to ask the front desk for three extra comforters for each bed to put on the top in order for some of my family to sleep comfortably. I have been in China for two years now, so we were aware this could be an issue. However, my family was not so used to travelling in China and this was not something they found enjoyable. Please know the staff was friendly and accomodatiing. The experience was worth the money and I will try them again when travelling with family since they offer the apartment style rentals.

Fantastic Value
Amazing value for money!. They are currently renovating one of the two towers, so the facilities are a bit compromised at the moment, but the apartment itself was fantastic and absolutely huge with everything you could possibly need in it. Several fabulous restaurants nearby, and the subway station just around the corner to take you anywhere you want.

The staff is friendly but the overall condition of the hotel is poor. It is not a new one and one tower is being renovated. There is not a hotel lobby and the breakfast restaurant is very small. We stayed at a two bedroom unit which is very spacious and has all the appliances needed specially if traveling with kids, which was our case. But everything in the unit is old. The most difficult part for us was the mattress. A really hard one and we tend to prefer softer ones. Subway station is a block away which makes it convenient to move around but don't expect to do much nearby the hotel area.

As we arrived by taxi, the front of the hotel was under construction. The taxi could have backed into it, but the doorman who was standing said something to the driver and we were let out on the side walk. Hotel staff came to help with our luggages, but it was awkward and troublesome. More disappointment was the hotel room itself. They are renovating one half of the hotel, but the room we got had water stains on the carpet in the hallway from the bathroom, mold in the shower stall, bathroom counter tops were dusty. When I confronted the front about the stain and the mold, what they said even irritated me. It was " maybe the room needs renovation!!!!" Why do you rent out such room at such price? Not worth staying there!

Good location
Hotel location was close to subway so makes travelling easier. Shopping malls within minutes away. Their 2-bedroom apartment are very nice and comfortable. Cutlery, cooking utensils, washer and dryer are included which is a bonus. Will definitely stay in this hotel again next time!!

Excellent Stay in Ascott Beijing Hotel
The front desk was very accomodating inspite of us arriving 3am in the morning. We get the 2 bedroom deluxe and it was worth the money we pay, the bed was excellent, the toilet was classy, the living room was great, the kitchen area was complete with amenities and even the dining area was better.

Overall it is fantastic. There were few unsual things and always you expect them in China. There were 4 of us in a 2 bedroo aprtment. There were only 2 bath robes and 2 free breakfasts. Not sue about the rationale. Only thing to complain is the travel agency. They sold us a private car to go to the great wall but a van with a guide turned up. She wated to sell us other things wich was annoying. We specified the times we need to be at great wall in writing but the guide said she need to come back 3 hours before. We refused to accept that and as a result had to wait for about an hour to be trasferred to another car. They apologised and provided free transport to the rail station as a good will which is good. I think Ascott Hotel need to have travel agents who are honest to keep its reputation.

Excellent Hotel
Overall i don't believe you can get a better deal on any room in Beijing like this. Room was large, very clean, nice bathrooms, Kitchen. Fitness Center is very good and the staff speak english well and are very attentive. I will only stay at the Ascott from this point forward when visiting Beijing.
