It was the little things

The hotel's location, about 3 minutes' walk from a subway stop was good, though it is on an alley and not well marked. The surrounding area is nothing to speak of, too. The hotel itself has a very good breakfast that has both western and Chinese food. I ate one lunch there, too, which was good. The bathroom was not in very good shape -- some mold in the shower, water that would only very slowly go down the shower's drain, etc. The wifi signal in the room was fine. The first room that I was assigned had two twin beds rather than the requested double, and it reeked of smoke despite being a "non-smoking" room. I requested another room and was upgraded -- still two twins and a vague smell of smoke. I purchased access to a workout facility in the hotel (why should it be purchased?) that had limited equipment but was in good shape. The workout facility shared a wall with a smoking lounge, however, which made it smell of smoke too. The hotel is okay, but it just wasn't up to international standards in terms of repair and amenities.
